It appears as though "selfish" and "greedy" are two of the new politically correct buzzwords to describe people who are not thrilled with the prospect of paying 100% of the nation's taxes, rather than just 95%. It used to be that if you worked hard, saved, developed a buisness and prospered, you were considered "hard working" and "industrious".

With the newspeak, these productive individuals are now "selfish" because they do not want to have the feds take more and more of thier income and distribute it to people who have diametrically opposed political views, thus gaining thier vote. Charity is a voluntary donation of funds and resources to people in need. Redistribution is involuntary confiscation of resources from one group in order to buy the votes and dependency of another group.

When the libs advocate taking other people's money, they are not being charitable and it does not asuage thier guilt over thier social or economic status. Sacrifice, like actually contributing money themselves would help calm thier guilt. Thier lack of contribution to the causes they advocate is well..................selfish and greedy.

Either way people's money goes to care for the uninsured whenever people without health insurance go to the emergency room and rack up a huge bill.

There are plenty of hard working people out there who don't have health insurance. Don't make it seem as if they are all out there begging for a handout at every turn. Many of these people were laid off from good jobs and if they had it their way, they would still be working today.

Funny how people pretend like libs don't pay taxes..Funny how conservatives only complain about taxes when Dems are in power but ignore those same taxes when Pubcons are in power. Funny, Funny, Funny.

"Selfish" and "greedy" describe a generation that has refused to accept responsibility since they were blowing dope at hippie concerts. You know, the ones who jacked up real estate prices, sold property and left town when it came time to fix the sidewalks, bridges, schools, fire dept., etc. Yep, the same ones who collected multiples of what they paid into publicly funded retirement programs and didn't save enough to afford the high priced condo down the street (that'd be Soocial Seecurity.... "So See", get it??)

Selfisih and greedy are two shoes and if they fit then walk them, just don't expect me to hold your hand when you need or want.

Selfish and greedy also describe those who sit on their bumm all day waiting for someone else to hand them money, clean up after a storm, hand them a job, and pay for their education (even if at inflated prices due to the generation referred to above.)

I haven't noticed this usage. Do you have any examples?

Such people are still considered hard working, except maybe for Paris Hilton and other trust fund babies.

When the government takes others' money and redistributes it to defense contractors, what is your opinion?

Reads like a screenplay. Good imagination!

No- I did not like higher taxes when anyone was in power.

Where does selfish and greedy come from? Well the Obama man himself. He called people who did not want to pay higher taxes "selfish".

It is good that they came up with a few new buzzwords. I was getting tired of the old ones and this seems so nice and fresh. Stalin loved changing the meaning of words as well to suit his political needs. The father of political correctness, Stalin, would be so proud of his new pupils.

Now can any lib say that they would pay thier "fair" share of taxes and pay 50%? I think if everyone paid 50% rate, then it might be a little more palatable to those currently paying all the taxes. If you want all this social stuff, ante up and pay some yourself as well. Paying with other people's money just shows how selfish the left is- they are so greedy that they will not spend thier own money, but are delighted to use other people's money.

People need health care. It's not something you can choose to buy like new clothes or a new computer. It makes great sense to me that medical costs are socialized and shared by everyone.
