of course we can all see that this is unsustainable! the government cannot keep pulling from the private sector and expect that the economy will recover. with the world economy still destabilized we can expect more "interesting" programs.

It's one more instance of the Middle-classes' hard earned tax dollars used to fund OTaxya's Solcialist agenda.

Socialism = Trickle-up Poverty

The broken window fallacy is something only a Keynesian retard could conjure up.

True. Break a perfectly good window to stimulate sales of windows. Too bad the baker and the butcher are the ones who pay.

Would you have bought a dryer without the rebate?

That's pure crap. We bought one of those new front loading washers maybe 5 years ago. Nobody offered us any incentive. We needed a new washer and I liked the features and its using less water. If they do that then the government owes me a check.
They also owe me a check for $4500. I'll buy a new small SUV. 2 years ago my old beater 2nd car finally couldn't pass inspection and it was only getting about 18MPG, so I junked it. This is crap. We can't afford these giveaways when a few years down the road we'll all face huge tax hikes and loss of services due to irresponsible and frivolous spending now.

Yes. I need a new one and was just about to grab it when I heard of this program. Now I shall wait and use my subsidy on booze. I cannot fathom Uncle Sam subsidizing my vices, but if he must, and it seems he must, then so be it.
