Are you doing anything about this?

Of course I know some of you will say, "She shouldn't have had sex" but aside from all that, do you feel this issue matters to those in the "pro life" community who care so much about the "unborn"?

Great point.

I tend towards being "pro-life"...but I hate ll the "she shouldn't have had sex et al bs" and I don't think that legislation is the answer. There is a reason why logic flies out the window when passion becomes involved and that reason is biologically based; it's to ensure that the species goes on. Telling people to just not do it never has and never will work because our brains are all hard wired to turn to mush at certain times...

It seems to me that so many pro lifers are also anti BC and anti education. I really admire the ones such as LML who realize that both of these things are highly instrumental in reducing abortion instead of just shrieking at other people about how they should live.

I quit reading after this line:

Odder and ickier still is the sight of Sarah Palin, Betsy McCaughey and other women leading, or sometimes blindly following, the wacko town hall movement against reform.

It's the same group who scream about "Less government" but then think they have a right to tell Americans who they can and can not marry.

Oh, you mean freedom of speech?

That's your choice.
I didn't expect to change your mind. You're pretty much a dining table.

Exactly. I don't get these people. I live in Alaska, and we've had an influx of wingnuts during the past few years who think this is going to be some kind of neo-con haven, are seemingly terrified that their precious guns are going to be taken away (I shoot and am pro-2nd Amendment myself) and yap constantly about how their rights are being eroded, but they seem to be the first ones to want to tell the rest of us how to live.

It's one thing to talk about it, it's another to raise funds, go about stirring up prejudice, getting it on the ballot, etc.

I think you know exactly one we are talking about.

I think there is a difference between freedom of speech and supporting government legislation that would deny rights to a substantial part of the population.

Why did you insult me? I made no such epithet towards you. I had every intention of reading the article, and then giving my opinion; however, it was so inflammatory and insulting that it lacked any relevance or objectivity. Again, just curious as to why you felt the need for name calling?
