All told, the White House predicts that the nation will have to borrow an additional $9 trillion over the next decade to finance the annual deficits, driving the accumulated national debt to nearly $23 trillion in 2019 -- or 76.5 percent of gross domestic product, the highest since 1950.
Quote:
The $787 billion economic stimulus package President Obama signed earlier this year is likely to cost "tens of billions of dollars" more than expected, helping to drive projections for next year's budget deficit to $1.5 trillion, White House budget director Peter Orszag told reporters.
The President and the Congress has not spelled out for the American people exactly how the proposed healthcare reforms will save money. Until they do so, and do it accurately and decisively with real math instead of fuzzy math, there is no room to add the billions (trillions?) to the national debt via a public insurance option.
They really think we are stupid. See the Whitehouse knows there are some smart people out there who were saying this for the last 2 years..at least..
Now they are playing to the majority of dumb asses out there. They are lowering expectations so when some good news comes out they can spin it and say "look how good we are!"... "It is not nearly as bad as it could have been!"
Bunch of conartists running this country and a bunch of sheep worshipping the government.
