I rather make the decision myself to help my fellow Americans and I can do it alot more efficiently then the Government.
I like to cut out the middle man when at all possible.

There's nothing wrong with the truly needy getting help. But I will never ever support the notion that everyone get's an equal life regardless of how hard they worked for it.

Well done, Mr. Obama - at least from the perspective of selling cars and getting gas-guzzlers off the road.
I agree, a nice shot in the arm.

I agree. There are those that do not have because they are unable, and then there are those that do not have for other reasons. I'm all for helping the first group.

Lets sit back and watch all those cars hit the repo line in a few months from now.

Most of those people had no car payment and now have one they cannot afford.

Way to go ObamaScare, put more people in debt like you have our country!

Really smart!

"WASHINGTON - Cash for Clunkers generated nearly 700,000 new car sales and ended under its $3 billion budget, the Transportation Department said Wednesday.

Releasing final data, the government said dealers submitted 690,114 vouchers totaling $2.88 billion. New car sales through the program ended late Monday and dealers were allowed to submit paperwork to the government until late Tuesday.

Japanese automakers Toyota, Honda and Nissan accounted for 41 percent of the new vehicle sales, outpacing Detroit automakers General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, which had a share of nearly 39 percent. Toyota Motor Corp. led the industry with 19.4 percent of new sales, followed by General Motors Co. with 17.6 percent and Ford Motor Co. with 14.4 percent."

Posting this for those wingnutters that claimed the final statistics wouldn't be released.
0bama Motors sold a lot of vehicles, seems like that was the plan.

And for all those people who thought they were getting free money, you not only pay taxes on the full sale price of the new car, and in many cases that price was inflated by the car dealer because of CFC, but you also have to pay taxes on the $4,500 government gift come April 15th.
