I can see it now. A brutally cold and snowy winter where they'll still prattling on about global warming all the while saying that you absolutely must get a vaccination because the government says the H1N1 virus is so dangerous.
As far as the Umbrella corporation making the vaccine, LOL. How's this? Maybe I'll head out to Colorado with the rest of the non vaccinated survivors while Obama's people head for Las Vegas just like in "The Stand."

As usual, FOX didn't quite get the story straight, if that's what you heard. "Contact" with an infected person means being in his/her breathing space, and being exposed to his/her coughing, which is how the virus spreads. Sure, good handwashing is always an important infection control method, but it's not going to prevent most cases of the flu. College age people are at high risk b/c they are in classrooms full of people coughing, and live in dorms or apts with numerous people who are doing the same.

Hmm... 1/3 of all nurses interviewed say that they will not take the shot because it is too dangerous, and scientists who worked on the vaccine refuse to take it - sounds like something you really want to give to your kids, right?

My family isn't planning to take the shot either. Knowing that Baxter Labs is involved and how inept they are, I'm not willing to risk my life or children's lives over it.
If you wear an H1N1 mask, cover your mouth/nose when you sneeze, cover your mouth when you cough, and wash your hands when necessary, and take vitamin C -- you can avoid getting sick and/or spreading it to others.
A lot of this is just plain common sense. People seem to have a real lack of manners when they're out in public, sick. They hack all over, spit and wheeze, it's no wonder so many people are catching it.
