Our unemployment is around 12+ officially, and much higher unofficially. We had thousands of contract workers that didn't qualify for unemployment - so they are not counted in the government's official figures.

I am very concerned what folks will do. In our region, the jobs are gone. The factories don't even exist anymore. The banking jobs dried up b/c of bank mergers. I frankly am very surprised that more people have not left the area and still think they will eventually replace their jobs here.
I am very very worried about what people are going to do when the ESC checks stop. Our state fund has already gone bankrupt months ago.

We need an economic stimulus that will work Give everyone a check for $1k/month until the unemployment gets below 5%. That will work.
