Think about your situation. You said you use both. What would you do without them?
I'd rather have the private insurance I had before, I know that... No it was not perfect but still better than medicare or the VA.

The VA is NOT "socialized medicine", it's something a Veteran earns...

Try getting an appointment at the VA because you are feeling bad one morning when you wake up...It's NOT going to happen.. You have to go in and be on sort of a stand by to see a doctor if you do get to see one at all. and If you don't see one that day you can come back in tomorrow and start the wait all over.
Been there done that.....

You didn't answer my question..What would you do without your YES "socialized medicine"...You evidently couldn't keep your private insurance for whatever reason..

Also, you can't just show up to most private Dr.s without an appointment and even with one the wait time can be very long. Long waits are not exclusive to medicaire/VA.

Wingnut is a gentle term to describe this kind of idiotic reasoning.

LMAO...private insurance (DOES NOT) works effectively, efficiently or consistently. Here's my question to you. If you don't like government run healthcare, why are you and so many cons all of a sudden supporting medicaire? I guess you realized old people would be mad..I also don't think old people actually realized they were using government run healthcare.

Does anyone here get up in the morning and work for free? No you don't I work for the #2 Cancer hospital in America. We use tons of equiptment much of it on the cutting edge of Med. tech. Do you think that GE spends millions and millions of dollars on R&D to make a product simply out of the goodness of their hearts? No, they don't they do it for money. Sad as that seems these are the facts. Reimbursment is going WAY DOWN on the procedures that we do under this "plan". That means eventually we will have to downsize, I'll most likely lose my job. That was from a meeting my department had. So I'd rather keep my job which I chose BECAUSE it gave me health benefits than lose the job and not be able to eat.

Medicare More Efficient Than Private Insurance?

Yeah, yeah, I know, it says Fox.......read it anyway.

"The latest talking points, delivered by top Democrats and echoed in a town hall question to Republican Senator John McCain, is that government-run health care would be good because Medicare is more efficient than private insurance.

Not so fast, says Fox News analyst James Farrell: ..........."

You said the gov wont take anything away and it appears you are wrong.

Name the gov program that is not short on cash? That is running with a surplus.
