Apparently CNN finally decides to show up but I don't think they're going to be heard.

I watched about 30 seconds of Glen Beck's coverage and it was all I could stand. I do support their right to their opinions, and right to express them. I just don't want any part of it.

Make sure you see as they pan the crowd at the very beginning.

I not so sure it wasn't over a million.
that is in no way shape or form over a million people.

about 200,000 protestors looks like this, just for reference:

It's as if they were caught flatfooted.

The national media outlets are expressing a bit of shock over just how many people there are that actually showed up to march.

The Republicans, after touting the tea parties as being just a "bunch of neocon right wing nut cases" are shocked to learn that this indeed might not be the case.

I suppose it's easy to blow off protesters at the local level, but when hundreds of thousands of fathers, mothers, children, democrats and republicans join together and decend on Washington ... well ... that's a little harder to ignore.

do you have a source for your claim that there were hundreds of thousands of people there? besides sanrene saying "look at the pictures"?

or an example of a national media outlet "expressing shock" at the numbers? they seem to be right around what was expected.

The expectations from the organizers were a "few" thousands. Do to the overwhelming numbers that showed up, they were asked to start their march 20 minutes early because they couldn't fit in the Plaza.

If ten thousand showed up, it would have been deemed successful. Many, many times that number showed up.

Just the fact - live with it.

Why so desperate to dismiss/discount the crowd that showed up?
