In an interview with Fox News to be aired this Sunday, former Vice President Dick Cheney said he is “OK” with CIA interrogations that violated Justice Department guidelines and condemned the prospect of any investigation of abuses as potentially “devastating” to morale.
The 2004 Inspector General’s report released on Monday cited numerous cases of possible violations of the felony torture statute, which prohibits both “the intentional infliction or threatened infliction of severe physical pain or suffering” and “the threat of imminent death.”

I get the feeling that if we start investigating Cheyney we will have to double the size of the Justice Department

At least he is up front about where he stands. LOL Besides although I wouldn't trust the man for a second I do like how he never fails to totally disrespect the press.

They didn't violate anything. The Justice Dept gave their legal opinions and the CIA followed them above and beyond.

I find it impossible to believe that the lily livered congress STILL hasn't held hearings into Cheney and Haliburton's war profiteering. For heaven's sake they had hearings for years about an investment the Clintons made before he was elected and in which they lost money. Cheney starts a war so that he can award his company billions of dollars of no bid contracts and they do nothing????????????

Amazing, isn't it? I always say that if these crimes are ignored, we are continuing as a nation built on sand. Our foundation is a farce if these criminals ride off into the sunset.

Since Democratic "agenda" isn't floating well they'll launch investigations.
Same tactic the Republicans applied to Clinton.
These guys and gals on the Hill need to focus on pressing issues that are long past being the focus of their undivided attention.

another post not based in reality. Study both the US and International laws and treaties and you will find plenty of violations. but of course that won't support your morbidly warped view of the world.
It is time we look behind the curtain and see the truth. Of course Cheney is one that avoided writing info down so as not to leave a trail... makes you wonder the depth of his illegal acts, well anyone interested in justice would wonder.

FDR was ok with teh mesures taken in WWII but is hailed by liberals as thier greatest president. JFK actaully has mob associations and tried to have a foreign leader musdered ;castro. What does chaney 's aggreeing with teh CIA methods have to do with his previspous career. Do you remmebr the old Johson Brown and Root vietnam so called connection/ Same thig ;it was investiagted to death andf amounted to nothing. it like this is just a propogranda issue with liberals.Eight years of investigation and nothing.Much liike the nazi went after the jews blaming them for the loss in WWI;so teh nut cases saw it worked so tehy wnet after teh comuist controllig the movie inducstry'whne that died they went after the jews agaain climing they controlled the moive inductry then the foreign policy by insiders in the governamnt.then the mob;johson and other killed JFK. The nut connections never end i this country on either side and always come out lookig like the fools they are and wander why they have no power. Who wants to follow fools.

"Just following orders" didn't play at Nuremberg.
A legal opinion is exactly that, and does not have the force of settled law. That is why there are investigations, trials, and appeals.
