Katie Couric called it! She states in this post election interview with Letterman that we would hear from Palin again and described Palin as 'very polarizing'.
Sarah Palin is the most interesting political figure in America today - and among the most influential.
I'll agree, somewhat, with the first part of your statement. She definitely brought something to the table that no other candidate had.....lack of any real political, economic, or foreign relations experience. She was a hackey-mam. Maybe that’s a good thing and what people needed. But how was she any better than any other middle class marginally intelligent hockey mom? Was it her whopping two years of experience as Governor of a state with fewer than 700,000 people? If you honestly believe that it was anything more than her being in the right place at the right time, you are delusional. She was an attractive fresh face that held an elected office who could be told exactly what to do and say. We've clearly seen how intelligent she is when her speeches aren't written for her.
If McCain's camp wanted a fresh face that was female, they should have chosen Carly Fiorina. They were already using her in an economic advisory role. Isn't a secretary who worked her way up to become CEO of Hewlett-Packard a better story than Sarah Palin's anyway?
My favorite part of the original article on Palin speaking at the conference was the sentence:
"Our keynote speakers are notable luminaries who often address topics that go beyond traditional finance such as geopolitics," company spokeswoman Simone Wheeler said in a statement.
Palin may be fresh and exciting, but a luminary? Come on.
It will most likely be a disaster. Seeing as how terrible she did in the USA.
