What resonated with you from President Obama’s speech? What lines or phrases do you remember?

Suppose President Obama were to give another speech about being educationally successful. To whom would he speak? Why? What would the president say?

What are the three most important words in the speech? Rank them.
What does deconstructing obama's speech have to do with a teachable "educational" moment? Sounds more like a political exercise.

We must remember - it's always all about obama and his massive ego.

White House Withdraws Call for Students to 'Help' Obama.

Kids won't need to write letters now or say the "Pledge to Obama".

Good to hear they've changed the wording. What they can do for Obama and what Obama wants them to do was a bit over the line for Pre-K kids.

I can just see the phobes twisting every word, and nuance. If Obama says "god' they will insert "satan". If he says "responsibility" they will substitute "extreme government control." If he uses the term "a joyful tomorrow" they will see "a new Islamic America." However, if he promises every American a thousand dollars, they will hear that loud and clear.

No one is twisting any words. "What they can do to help President Obama" came right from the White House who are now backtracking and changing the materials for the schools.

Are you so blinded by your political affiliation that you can see no wrong with your party ?

From your own linked article:

Quote:
White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said the changes to the language are intended to make the lesson plans clearer. He added that the speech is not a policy speech, but is intended to encourage kids to work hard and commit to school.

The speech is "about the value of education and the importance of staying in school as part of his effort to dramatically cut the dropout rate," Vietor said.
Sounds really sinister. There's an obvious basis for all the hysteria.

Actually that is what they are NOW putting in the materials.
That is not sinister. It's what was originally there that was being questioned.
