President Barack Obama will deliver a major address to Congress next Wednesday, confronting critics of his health care overhaul and trying to buck up supporters on an issue that has been slipping from his control under withering Republican-led attacks.

Go Obama Go..

There will be a major backlash from huge supporters of the Democratic Party if the public option is dropped. Obama will not throw the Democrats under the bus but we have to keep the pressure on.

I doubt he will even seek the support of the GOP much longer, the public option is a must have.

Good, the more he does his hard sell act, the more weary Americans grow of his antics.

Obama Joint Session Of Congress Address On Health Care Planned
This morning, Disney TV (ABC, "Good Morning America", and now GE TV (MSNBC- David Shuster) both engaged in a corpotrate media tactic called "leading the story".

This involves spreading basic rumors, which are given the status of truth, in order to get the outcome to be the one desired by the Boardrooms of the respective outlets:

In this case, killing the Public Option.

It will adversely affect the giant megacorps investments is why.
And it's that simple.

Contrast that with the Huff Post's story which gives only the known facts.

But, the sad but true is with Mr. Obama having lied throughout the campaign (he ran as a Progressive- Remember when he said, "Health Care was a right?") then by governing as a Conservative Democrat (a "Clinton" Democrat they are called), it may very well be that his staff has planted these rumors in the corporate press to take the heat off Obama (the corporate storyline is based on a lie- the polls are going down because of the Public Option, rather than the truth (as reflected in the polls)- that Obama has lost most of his support by losing Progressives.

If this latter ploy is the operative one, then Obama has again shown himself as being too devious by half:

For it will not matter the "why", but the 'What".

The calculus will be the same:

No Public Option- no second term.

And no Democratic Party.

It's also that simple.

I wish assemblies like this were more like townhall, with the audience (Congress) challenging and asking questions and the President answering them, on television for all to see. Not that it will be of any use to the truly insane, but at least it will put the debate on the right track, for the betterment of the country, addressing lies and misrepresentations, and genuine questions that the populace may have put in front of their representatives/senators during the break.
