What plan? What perfect world? Does the right have a plan? Does the right envision a perfect world? Every person has their own idea of what the perfect government will be, every person has their own vision of a perfect world?

It's like asking someone about how they envision the perfect family. Do you want a family that gets all dressed up for Thanksgiving, and has the Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving feast, where everyone is polite, and the only disagreement is whether to have apple pie or pumpkin pie for desert? Or do you want the family where the kids are running through the kitchen, letting the dog in, and David's girlfriend is coming and David's just told Mom that his girlfriend is a vegan, the pie dough is too crumbly, Dad's taken up smoking again, Pete and Al were playing touch football a few minutes ago, but now they're beating the --- out of each other, Uncle Dex and Grandpa are arguing over which football game to watch?

The truth of the matter is that most of us want something in between. We want the life and passion that the second family epitomizes, and we want the peace and order and serenity of the first family. We want the same thing from our government, a raucous, passionate dialogue over what's best for our country with people bringing ideas and opinions to the table, willing to fight for what they want. And we want peace and order as we implement those ideas.

As one of those liberals, my perfect world is a world where every citizen takes the time to educate themselves about the pressing issues of the day, and every citizen has the opportunity to offer his input into what the right solution should be. My perfect world is a world where people don't fall to sleep at news conferences and during Congressional hearings, but get excited and involved. My perfect world is a world where people do shout to get their questions heard, and then listen respectfully to the answers they get. My perfect world is a world where people hear about someone dying in an emergency room of neglect, and vow that that will never happen again. Government is not the solution to any problem, people are the solutions, government is one of the tools available to us to help solve problems. I'll use any tool to get the job done, I prefer to use the tool that will get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Sometimes that tool is the government. Sometimes it isn't.

Judging by the answers you just know they are all probably 36 going on 12 and still living with mommy and daddy.

What they want is for someone to wipe their azz from cradle to grave, without the hinderance of personal responsibility.

I would like to see our military get out of countries where we are there strictly for political reasons & start helping out countries that truly need it. I would like to start seeing people do their part, any little bit helps, in helping the environment. I'm tired of people who gripe about the littlest things. Is it really that hard to recycle, reduce, reuse? I want healthcare for all. For those against it, something is very wrong w/you. I would like to see less development & urban sprawl, more building up & preservation of habitats. As far as taxes go...there's only 2 things guaranteed in life: death & taxes. I have no economic solution because..well, I'm not an economist. I would like the religious people to worry about their own churches, not what people on the outside are doing. I would like politicians to stop being swayed by corporations & the religious right. Start thinking for themselves. I would like the right to take a bit of their own advice & stay out of people's business. You're for smaller government, but only in terms of money. I've never understood that, when it comes to social issues, the right have their nose smack up on people's butts. Talk about hypocritical. You want small government, then own up to it in ALL aspects, not just the ones that end up w/you getting money in your pocket.

Well, we all have to pay taxes. In fact, my property taxes are almost due and though I can afford it, I'm going to take a hit...but the difference between myself and those on the right, is even though I'm paying taxes for services I don't even use, such as public schools, I'm happy to do it because I know it helps out many of my fellow citizens and it's for the greater good.

To put it in a nutshell, the left cares about their fellow Americans, the right cares about themselves..

Seriously, was my paragraph to long for you to understand? Give me a break. If that's the only problem then I'm happy.

I sit and watch all the name calling and the bitterness and passion you people have for this cause. OK so lay the cards out...what is it that you want and who should pay for it. What will it take for all of you to just shut up, be happy and quit attacking?
What will it take for you to shut up and admit that the majority of this country voted for change? When you will quit attacking the majority who wanted change? (I'm just using your words in your last sentence).

I can understand discussion in order to solve problems and create solutions, but you (in general) don't want to discuss anything; you (in general) simply don't want Obama as President. Maybe if you (in general) just admit that, everything else will become clear to you. It is very clear to me that this is what it is all about. Why not just cut to the chase and admit that and set yourself free. This goes for all the Obama haters.

The man has been hated since election night and the hate has been turned up umpteenth notches since Inauguration day and it has not let up. So, don't say that it's about "what he's doing." He was hated before he did anything at all. The only thing that he did that riled the right-wing up is that he was elected instead of McCain/Palin and because of that, we have to listen the crying, whining, and sky is falling every single day, over and over and over and over and over again. Listen, McCain/Palin are NOT going to be in office this four years no matter how much you (in general) cry and throw yourself on the floor. I don't know how else to put it. This is how our Democratic process in this country works. For those of us who didn't vote for Bush the last two terms, we still lived here and lived through it and now someone else is in office and life is still going on.

And as far as how we're going to pay for it, I don't know. How do we finance the war in Iraq, how do we finance the massive banking bail-out, how do we finance corporate tax breaks, how do we finance tax cuts for the very rich? I don't know, yet it's being done. When it comes to private citizens asking for a little of their tax money to be used for their plight, then suddenly, it's all about how we can't afford it. Don't you find that a bit disturbing? I know that I do.

Were you complaining when Bush and the Republican congress were spending money left and right and running up the deficit?

Probably not, because those of your ilk (teabaggers) didn't seem care about spending until Obama came into office...how transparent. How can you expect to be taken seriously when you demonstrate that kind of hypocrisy?

Id be much pleased if the right wingers would turn off their TV-feeding tube and start thinking for themselves. Some on C-D have actually done this -- stopped and thought -- and while they're still a little leery of Obama, they do their own research, they consider intelligently, and they dont spew insane lies they heard on TV the night before or read on a blog.

What would this left-winger want?

..,with Liberty and Justice for all. Not just the prevailed few that can afford it.

Equal opportunity for all regardless of financial status of parents.

Government ownership of "natural" monopolies such as electric power systems, drinking and irrigation water supplies, and similar systems

Regulation that prevents private monopolies or collusive oligopolies in any market

Universal Health Care System with government ownership of the physical facilities and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

Military forces designed to defend the country not just provide profits by providing subsidies for the private suppliers of military hardware and services. Military industries should be government owned.

Enhancement of individual capacities by providing free education for all to the graduate level.

Elimination of property, sales, excise and all regressive taxes and fees.

Government would only tax income over a deductible equal to twice the mean income and do so in a steeply progressive manner similar to the income taxes in the 1950's. This tax would apply to all income from all sources with special consideration (an extra 30% for income derived from foreign manufacturing investment).

Institute countervailing tariffs to negate the price advantages created by lower wage, benefit and environmental costs.

Strict regulation of the banking and financial industry to prevent the formation of casino gambling and speculative price bubbles.

Encourage individuals to own and carry firearms where ever they please with very few restrictions. Places selling liquor for instance.

Yes, there are a couple righties on here who don't resort immediately to insults. Then you've got the ones who can't seem to help themselves. And it's weird, because almost every post of theirs is just childish rambling & insults w/nothing in between. And when you question them about it, they either ignore you completely or just reiterate the rambling they just did previously. I think you know who I'm talking about.
