In a recent interview with WorldNetDaily, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said that she would be willing to run for president if God asked her to do it. “When I have sensed that the Lord is calling me to do something, I’ve said yes to it,” she said. On Mike Gallagher’s radio program yesterday, Bachmann again dropped hints that she might want to run for president, saying that Democrats are attacking her because she’s such a threat:
Think Progress » Bachmann: Democrats are trying to ‘sabotage’ me because they’re afraid I’ll be the first woman president. (http://thinkprogress.org/2009/09/bachmann-president/ - broken link)
Is she insane...

Some persons who suffer from being disconnected from reality, especially when religious fervor is involved, see resistance as confirmation of the correctness of their own cause. Having the gift of hearing and understanding the VOICE OF GOD just makes the person's sense of "calling" that much stronger. The situation can thus tend to escalate in intensity to the point of actual physical conflict between that person, or that person's agents, and those with whom he/she disagrees.
I'm afraid her career is going to go badly.

I don't think anyone is afraid of her being the first woman president. She is too nutty to ever make it out of the primaries. She is about as ridiculous as Nancy Pelosi....
If "God" is asking her to do it, I hope she makes sure they aren't just voices in her head. Those voices are more what I am scared of.
