Although I do not agree with Obama on many issues and did not vote for him, I really think that the parents who kept their children home when Obama spoke to the kids are being a tad bit ridiculous! What are they afraid of? Are they afraid that Obama will hypnotize the kids and send subliminal messages promoting liberalism. I think it's a great idea for our nation's kids to hear a positive message about studying hard and staying in school from our president.
The people that are keeping their children at home simply because Obama is speaking are the same people who think that...
a) Elvis is still alive and living in New Mexico
b) UFOs are real and they have been a part of alien abduction experiments
c) The moon landings were fake by NASA
d) Obama is leading the New World Order (and he wants to start with the children)
e) all of the above

If anyone does keep their kids out just to avoid them seeing/hearing the President then all they are teaching their kids is that the office of President is pointless and meaningless and not worthy of anything. There is no differentiation between Obama being President or someone of their parents choosing...all they will know is that its' not important to hear what out President has to say whoever it is, and they should avoid it at all cost.
