Obama urges students to work hard, stay in school - CNN.com

Quote:
One of the most unexpected controversies of the Obama administration came to a head Tuesday as the president delivered a hotly debated back-to-school speech to students across the country.

Many conservatives expressed fear over the past week that the president's address would be used to push a partisan political agenda.

So in other words, it doesn't matter what he says ...if it's coming from his lips...then, to some people, it's automatically wrong.

It doesn't matter that he's the president that we as a country elected, he's from the other side, so... everything he says must be wrong.

How silly is that?

That's what I've been thinking since I heard about this! There was even some pathetic woman on TV this morning crying and said I just can't believe my daughter has to watch this. I wanted to puke. People really are pathetic. "It's indoctrination"! Yeah god forbid someone should tell your kids to do good at school cause lord knows you wont do it!

What is Obama's plan for students who don't have to try at all? Students who are, in fact, being seriously undereducated in our public schools - a problem that's been plaguing our public schools for decades?

Why not a single peep from Obama on students who have to struggle with being dumbed down at school?

What better way to stress the importance of listening and doing well in school than to interrupt learning with a boring speech by a dirty politican?

It was a speech to the kids going back to school.

Do you think they need to hear about the complicated inner-workings of our educational system on their first day back from break?

I see that the end result is a bland speech not to offend but then why give the speech at all? One thing for sure, the kiddies like will sure know like who the president is.

It's a speech to motivate kids to do well.

If you don't think it's inspiring for kids to hear their president talking to them...then you have never been inside a classroom with youngsters.

Liberals don't seem to get it. We know what Obama is. What know who he associates with. We know what his beliefs are. We know he is trying to transform this nation to achieve social justice and retribution for our past sins and if it means bankruptcy and transforming us into a Socialist state, that is what his ultimate goal is. It has nothing to with anything else. We no longer trust him..period And we do not want what he is peddling.
