Even the "nuclear option" or Reconcilliation doesn't mean it will get passed because the Reconcilliation process is subject to Byrd rules which means the Republicans can then strip the Public Option out of it according to the Byrd Rules.

They don't have the numbers. The House needs 218 votes to pass Healthcare. There are 255 House Democrats and 178 House Republicans. Of the 255 House Democrats, 52 of them are "Blue Dogs" or moderates. Of those 52 Blue Dogs, the Liberal Democrats would need 15 of these Blue Dogs to pass Health Care reform. It's not going to happen! These Blue Dogs are from conservative districts thus will not vote for it knowing they will be voted out of office in 2010.

The Senate will come to a standstill if they try it - and the GOP will have the public on their side - America just does not want obamacare.
