He said that not one Dollar will be increased in the defecit not that he will not find money to pay for healthcare. There are many, many areas today that are full of wasteful spending. If a new health system could plug those holes and create a better health system, we all win.
It's like when you stop smoking. The huge ampounts of money wasted on smoking can then be used to but things for a better lifestyle or pay important bills. This is the same thing.
They dont want to know.

Sooo, the government is going to pay for this by curbing wasteful spending --- kinda like how they were going to keep pork out of the stimulas package? And really we are to look at the governments handling of medicare as reassurance that they can handle this type of complete overhaul of the US healthcare system?!

And I am sorry, but if I make $1000 a month yet put $10,000 a month on three different credit cards I am not saving/making money by cutting up one credit card and putting the $10,000 only on two. I am still in debt $9,000 a month -- and that does add up. How is this any different from Obamas plan? We are wildly in debt with no real way to pay it off or even a plan to pay it off yet we are supposed to be fine with adding more to it? This type of buy now pay later idiocy is what started this economic downturn. If our 'leaders' can't understand this then yes, the US will experience a Wehrmacht republic style inflation where one would need a wheelbarrow to haul enough money to the store to buy a loaf of bread.

But what am I saying? Like public education health care will be free! Gloriously free!!!

That's why it's so hard to understand! Did that help you to understand?

Why yes, they are going broke but so what? The question was "how are we gonna pay for it", not how will we afford it or how this is gonna make financial sense.

You must be a very short person.

No, we do want to know -- but we want to know specifics and not vague 'cutting waste' bs.

Those are paid by payroll tax. Obama promised no new taxes.

Then Social Security in principle is a 'Ponzi Scheme' because my taxes are going to be paying for the boomers and part of the generation before them. I don't really feel all that bad at all that my daughter's generation will be partially supporting me - it's only fair play.
