So it's been hotter than normal in the South and cooler than normal in the North. Gee, imagine that.

NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - 2007 was Tenth Warmest for U.S., Fifth Warmest Worldwide

"Six of the 10 warmest years on record for the contiguous U.S. have occurred since 1998, part of a three decade period in which mean temperatures for the contiguous U.S. have risen at a rate near 0.6°F per decade."

It fascinates me no end that the same people who spout on ad infinitum about national security, and their perceived lack of same, refuse to accept the impact and reality of climate change.
If our military believes it is real and a real threat to our national security, one that they are already training and preparing for, I sure am not about to argue:

"Global climate change presents a serious national security threat that could affect Americans at home, impact U.S. military operations, and heighten global tensions, finds a study released today by a blue-ribbon panel of 11 of the most senior retired U.S. admirals and generals."

Military Panel: Climate Change Threatens U.S. National Security

"At the Southern Governors' Association's annual meeting near Williamsburg, VA, retired military officials told the governors that climate change will have major impacts on their states. Retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Richard Engel, who directs the Climate Change and State Stability program of the National Intelligence Council, told the governors that global warming will cause drought, floods, and storm damage."

Southern Governors Warned About Impacts of Climate Change : TreeHugger

"“We seem to be standing by and, frankly, asking for perfectness in science,” retired Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, one of the authors of the report, said. “We never have 100 percent certainty. If you wait until you have 100 percent certainty, something bad is going to happen on the battlefield.”"

And since most repubs have never attended a science class and think science is witchcraft...I'll explain. You are right , it should be called something other than Global Warming because that confuses the ...er...less educated.

And scientists do want to change what they call it to be more accurate.

Now , for your first science lesson....here's a quicky.

When ice melts from WARMTH it COOLS the water around it which has a ripple effect on weather around the world. (Remember ? the US is not the entire world).
I don't know if "Climate Change" is reversible, but Tunnel Vision Syndrome is definitely not. There is no use explaining anything to some because if they were going to understand a scientific concept, they would have gotten it way before now. They will never watch the videos or movies nor read the books or articles that are contrary to what they so badly want to believe are the facts. I think it is a form of obsessive, compulsive behavior as they cannot veer off the track they have been programmed to go down. Don't waste your time. They probably think rain is really some white bearded big guy in the sky crying.

These are folks who's value system is based on what is best for white Americans. The destruction of the entire planet and the entire human race would be insignificant in their eyes if they could run around in their underwear in the winter and grow fatter in front of their God, the television set in frigid air conditioning during the summer. Their feigned ignorance and stupidity on scientific matters is just a cover for their unholy greed and selfishness.

Your premise is silly.
Well if we're going to discuss the global temperatures the fact that they have decreased over the the last decade is certainly part of the equation. If temperatures had increased I'm sure the premise would no longer be silly because it would support your position? You'd be goin SEE... look its going up and up.

Are that gun shy I have you down to one word responses? Maybe because I had to correct your spelling in the post you suggested I have an English teacher correct my grammar?

What else is there to say? Wrong would do, but it's more letters.

It became very political and many saw how profitable it could become.
Here is an interesting article to check out.
