Is it still news anymore, or to be expected? Another Gitmo releasee returns to his terrorist ways.

In December 2001 the 30-year-old Ghezali was arrested in Pakistan, close to the border near the Tora Bora Mountains in Afghanistan and was shortly thereafter handed over to U.S. military. Ghezali was released from the Guántanamo base in July 2004. Suspected for collaboration with the jihadist terror network al Qaida and is believed to have been involved in a prison uprising where 17 people were killed.

Did anyone really think they were reformed ?
What did people expect of these terrorists..to go on the straight and narrow and become non-terrorists ?

No, they expect a fair trial to determine whether they are or are not terrorists.

You know, innocent until proven guilty? Is this some kind of foreign concept or something?

Welcome to the real world. The Justice system isn't perfect, but we deal with it because we live in a free society.

If you have issues with how Justice is carried out in our society that is a different matter altogether.

Are you joking? You think we should have a court system in place on the battle field. That soldiers should read the miranda rights to the combatants they detain?

It is. NO Nation on Earth treats enemy combatants like domestic criminals.

What hawkeye2009 says! Legal and Justice are two seperate things. Justice would have prevented the terrorist from returning to terrorism.

No- There is a big difference between the legal system and the justice system. The legal system freed a known terrorist to kill again. Justice and common sense would have never allowed that. The trial lawyers association, the main representatives of the American legal system, is not concerned with justice.

The only way they won't be terrorist is to renounce Islam and convert to secularism.

They should be brought to the USA and tried and put in US Federal prisons for life- or the better part of it.
