If our political discourse were in any way sane, the "death panel" nonsense would be a punch line, evidence of ridiculous people making up pathetic lies. The very phrase would be evidence of a bankrupt, comically desperate movement. It would be, to borrow a phrase, the right's "Waterloo."

guess this bull crap lost steam, so on to the next nonsensical accusations such as the public option for immigrants.

Except both happen to be true.

"Death Panels" is a a metaphor for those "independent panels" that would be "determinative" on the issue of doling out HC rationing. Obama's words in bold.

Since the democrats have changed the language to expressly require a citizenship test for all potential applicants, that is proof enough that Wilson was right, the protesters who have risen up in opposition to obamacare were right.

Republicans Were For Death Panels Before They Were Against Them

Caught Red Handed. Sen. Grassley Voted for "Death Panels" in 2003
According to Amy Sullivan at Time many of the very same death panel liars voted in favor of end-of-life counseling in 2003.

Of course Republicans love their death panels. The "death panel" language was placed in the bill by a pro-life Republican who has been advocating for voluntary end of life counseling for years.

Rush, Sarah, and Newt also support death panels, but they are partisan hacks.

BREAKING: Rush, Newt, and Sarah Supported Death Panels, Too!

The Nazi's exterminated the jews believing they were inferior. There was probably never a Nazi that became a jew or visa versa.
The neo fascists believe anyone overs sixty is not deserving of health care in favor of the younger and stronger. The greatest fools of all, have no concept, that they too will one day be over sixty...well...maybe not.
There will be no need for death panels in such a future world. It will be as normal as abortion.
I DON'T THINK WE ARE READY TO GO DOWN THAT ROAD JUST YET. Only because right thinking people will not allow fascism to take hold in this great country.
Obama will pass and his legions will fall in disgrace. It is inherent in this souless, immoral lot.

Neither example is "proof", yet alone "proof enough" of anything.

The Washington Monthly
Yes, rightists love Insurance company death panels which are real.

They support letting Americans die on the whim of executives who "need" to make hourly wages in the 5-6 figure range...well paid death panels....with total support of Republicans.

Isn't healthcare a finite resource that has to be rationed in some way? If it isn't rationed through a market it has to be rationed through some non-market mechanism such as a "death panel". I think people are just as put-off by market rationing of health care (i.e. "you can't put a price on a human life") as they are non-market rationing of health care (such as these "death panels").
