This is an interesting question I heard on Real Time with Bill Maher.

Those who is against Obama would you be willing to rally around him? would the country come together?

Hopefully another terrorist attack doesnt occur.

i think as long as he takes some sort of action against the terrorist instead of the "we will talk to them" approach that he has with other terrorists (n. korea) people will rally around him.

another question: anti-bush folks blame him for the attacks by saying he did not keep us safe even though the attacks came in his first 8 months. if something happened 1 week from now would those same people be willing to blame obama like they did bush? or would they continue to blame bush for things happening now?

I believe it would. After Bush's bullhorn speech, the country was fairly united, and the pettiness melted away.. For a while at least. Not sure how Obama would handle the situation, hopefully an opportunity for him to do so will not arise.

People who blame Bush for 9/11 are, trying to be nice here, wrong.

I would expect any president to react strongly to any attack on this country. And we better rally or the bad guys will accomplish part of their agenda.

No. The right wing radicals would blame Obama. The left wing radicals would want to talk to the terrorists and reach concensus(sp) and the middle majority would be in the dark because of all the misinformation coming from both fringes(kinda like health care reform). Reaction to the attack would be put in committee in the house where it never saw the light of day again.

I think the OP ask a very good question. I would love to say I have the correct answer but I really don't know what the far right would say and react. My guess would be that they would say he did not react fast enough but this is just a opinion. I guess it really depends on the scale of the incident. I have no doubt that the country would rally around a 9/11 size disaster.
