I'm curious, are the vast majority of Republican voters people who vote Republcan because they see the Republican party as a xtian party that shares their religious values ?
How many Republicans would not be religious at all but just fiscally conservative in % terms ?
Would the Republican party be better off in throwing the religious types under the bus in moving to the center and fighting elections on fiscal grounds ?
What chance do you give Palin if the so called religious base make her the winner of the Republican primary ?
How many Republicans believe the party should move to the center on social grounds ie dump all the carry on about abortions, gays etc ?
If the religious types are thrown under the bus where else can they go with their votes ?

Another anti Christian bigot that can't even type Christ. Chielgirl has met her soulmate. It's like a secular fundamentalist e harmony around here.
not in the mood to answer every question this late at night, but I'll take the first one:
There may have been a time when christians saw the GOP as a more "christian" party, but I think those days are waning. A lot of christians I know are going third party, and I don't blame them one bit.
The GOP knows that to throw its Christian right totally under the bus is to accept the Democratic Party as their government for years to come. Many Christian conservatives tend to be more anti-Democrat than pro-GOP anyway so supporting the GOP is the best position for the fight. A smart person knows that, although you may not love your foxhole buddies, your life may depend upon them.
There are third parties more in line with my conservative social and fiscal values than the GOP Party but right now they have NO chance of winning national elections. There's certainly no chance Christian conservatives will move to the Democratic Party bus which has had blood-stained bus wheels for some time.
