I think everyone (except the thick skulled ones) is agreeing with the DC FD estimates around 60-75K. O'Reilly was among others was mentioning 75K tonight.

sanrene, how can you continue to cite the schematic used to estimate the crowd size at the inauguration when you yourself said:

Actually, it doesn't matter how large the crowd was on 9-12-2009, because the next one will be much larger.

Oh really?

So why did you claim that photos from 9/12 taken towards the Washington Monument, showing expanses of grass devoid of protesters, were a hoax? Multiple times?

"How humiliating for you. You resort to posting a pic either before the crowd arrived or after they left. Or maybe not even from today.

How sad."

"Grammy; Is the whole Mall filled? That's what it looks like to me."

grammy164: "It looks like it to me too. They just said 1.5 million. Some amazing speeches. This is awesome!"

hee: How To Estimate A 9/12 Protest | Columnists | Mediaite

please note that this blog post, while very effectively illustrating the absurdity that 2 million could be mistaken for 70,000, also traces the root of the numbers in the millions to a TWEET (which is where kibbe said he got the number he announced). if you believe millions of people came to this, this is your source: http://twitter.com/pinkelephantpun/status/3936308212

I think the sight of a massive crowd of people protesting in the snow would be an awesome sight.

The pic grammy put up was a horizon shot, I believe - slightly above the crowd, looking toward the Monument - at that angle it is hard to see IF there was any open space.

It depends on where your pic was taken from, looking back at the monument. The way I saw it, people were walking on the mall sides either before or after the event.

As you can see from the video from Cspan and the various pics, people were on the mall up to about 4-5th st and they were also on the sides of the mall.
