Isn't marriage "til death do you apart" and not "till midlife crisis happens"?

Default California authorizes ballot initiative to ban divorce

California Secretary of State Debra Bowen today authorized the backer of an initiative that would ban divorce to begin collecting signatures to put the proposed constitutional amendment before voters.

Ban divorce? Ballot effort gets OK to gather signatures | L.A. NOW | Los Angeles Times

This is good. I don't like the fact that married, opposite-sex couples have a right to get divorced, so I think I should have a right to make it illegal. Where do I sign?

I know it doesn't affect me personally, but who cares? I think divorce is harmful to society and so it should be banned. I'm just adopting the "Prop. 8 attitude".

Ha.
I doubt it will pass.

My state should try to get that on the ballot considering the high rate of divorce.

At the same time, I hate it when others try to make others live under their rules when it comes to social issues. "Live and let live."

I'm all for the government getting out the marriage business altogether but we're not to that point in our society yet and probably never will be.

Glad to hear that there won't be a problem if this passes. Thanks.

Why do you assume that this was initiated by gays? Do you have any evidence of the guy's sexual orientation?

HOW COME PEOPLE THINK IT IS OK TO RUN OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES???????????????????????????????

Let people do what they want. Stop supporting politicians in making draconian laws.

The state should not be involved in Marriage period. There should be no such thing as a state marriage license.

You older generation fools allowed the government into your own bedrooms as well as your kids and grandkids bedrooms. You sick fools.

If you want the government to run your neighbors lives, move to a communistic country.

America was founded on individual freedom. Although there have been many tyrants, ever since the beginning to make America "Britain's stepchild"... There is a reason, that bush and clinton and reagan and obama BOW and HONOR the great Queen across the sea...

Let's all get together and pray that Jesus permits us to ban divorce.
