I had a hard time doing 4 10s (those are reeeeeally long days for me), but I do a 4 1/2 day work week now (8-5 M-Th, 8-1 F) and I love it.

That's pretty cool! I just rather have 3 days to not worry about work (even though I often get called out on the weekend anyhow) rather than two. I've worked a lot of 16-18-24 hour days though, so 10's seem short to me.

Yep. We have flex time at my corp and most people take advantage of the 10x4. Especially in the summer!

Utah also has/had a lot of year round schools. They seem to be very cost conscious.

As far as state workers, if they can keep DMV, etc open an extra 2 hrs, that's really positive, IMO. Do they staqgger the staff days off, or what?

No, they shut down completely on Fridays.

Still a good idea. I know a lot of corporate guys that do this, and have for years. Some of them work 9 X 9s and take a "floating" day every other week.
