Would Republicans have assailed this Democrat for saying such a thing? He would have been rode out of Congress on a rail, thrown under the bus by fellow Democrats as well. Furthermore, this person would have been CORRECT because the lies about WMD were just that.

However, Joe Wilson yelled "You Lie!" when it is clearly stated in H.R. 3200, Sec. 246 "NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS"

Not only was it poor class to do such a thing, it was also incorrect.

If Republicans had any decency (they don't) he'd be censured by his own party and Republicans might regain some credibility.

While he was addressing a joint session of congress? He would have been correct, but still out of line.

Knowing what the truth is and saying something else going into it is what makes the difference.

Yelling you lie about WMD and in so doing saving more than 4,000 American lives would have been well worth censure (and a medal) considering the pass that Republicans are giving Rep. Wilson.

He's getting a smack on the wrist!!!

For getting out of line with the president of the U.S.!!!

Now this idiot is on t.v. Trying to turn this into something postive for himself. "like yeah i stood up to the president"!!!

He needs a more harsh punishment!!!! Teach this retart a lesson!!!!
You don't get out of line with the president when hes is on T.V. Speaking to the nation!!!

Bush already helped dig the republican party's grave, and republicans already have no credibility, this won't help!!!!

Accept it already... there was no "lying" about WMD.

Oh God, I wish he would have but back then the Dems were following what Clinton said and he believed they had the WMD. So many people with short term memory loss, such a shame.

if a democrat had done that, i would have respected him/ her. the problem is that many of the democrats voted for the wars and are STILL voting for the wars. there is going to be a vote on expansion into afghanistan, which i certainly hope would be defeated. bush was a globalist who sold our country out for financial gain and the democrats did not stand up to him. you have to wonder why! maybe it is time to start OVER with new candidates and new parties and throw the bums out, ALL OF THEM!
if "decency" is keeping quiet while injustice is done, then i think that you have altered the word. as far as joe wilson, he voted for the bank bailout so he is just trying to save himself politically. before you hold the democrats on a pedestal, maybe you should take a look at how many of them voted for the bank / wall street bailouts. the people who sell you out are not your friends!
