Of course if he tried to stop them from taking pictures there would a thread tomorrow "Obama uses Secret Service to stop paparazzi from taking photos of his family"

and there would be comments like
"no other PORUS ever did this - Obama must think he's special. I mean he's the POTUS we're entitled to see photos of him"

"I can't believe he's wasting tax payer money like this. The Secret Service has better things to do than chase off sleazy cameramen...this guy is a joke"

"They must be hiding something. Why else would he not want them taking pictures?"

I'm confused as to how she doesn't understand the concept of telephoto lens. It's 2009, one doesn't need to be 2 feet away from the photo op in order to get a shot anymore.

seriously, weren't people bitching just a few weeks ago about the fact that camera phones weren't allowed in a restaurant where michelle obama was eating (possibly even with her kids, i forget).

edit: yup, they were, and yup, she was with her daughters.

If he tried to stop people from seeing photos the wingnuts would accuse him of having "something to hide" and would end up telling people that he'd sent the girls to Kenya to live and was having them raised Muslim.

He's por(o)us all right. Money is slipping through is fingers faster than they can print it.

And, yes, he does think he is special.

The Clintons were very careful to keep Chelsea out of the spotlight out of concern for her emotional well being. I would think the Obamas would want the same privacy for Sasha and Malia.

I absolutely love this series of pictures!! I don't remember a President publicly showing this much love and affection for his children since President Kennedy was in office.

Awesome

How cynical and without soul have people become when they somehow find fault with the perfectly natural and sweet sight of children welcoming their father home. The same people who mock children who have no father's presence in their lives are now also mocking a man who makes it a point to say AND demonstrate the importance of fathers in their children's lives. How sad and cynical.
