I don't understand what Obama or America should get for backing down on missile defense? It was proposed to be built on foreign soil. It would be different if he was asked to concede defense systems on Alasks which is US property. Has Russia installed missile defense systems in Canada? What would be America's response if it did? This is one rare exception where I support Obama's decision, regardless of his intention. Again, I still haven't seen anyone respond to my allegation that RINOs are throwing the founding fathers under the bus for planting bases and missile systems on foreign soil, creating tenuous allegiances our wise founding fathers were so adamantly opposed to.

I guess you don't know much about the issues in the Middle East...It is mostly about land and many neighboring countries have so much land they don't even use, if they all give a piece of land to their own muslim brothers, they all could live happely ever after, but no Israel has the smallest land and they need a piece of that small country!
Israel has even offered to help make a useless piece of land a piece of land on which they can grwo stuff since Israel has the knowledge...but no, they rather blow them self up to hurt Israeli's! they get $ 25K for their family and that is easier money than using their brains.

This comes back to whether or not we should be involved with the ME. Based on the very complex allegiances we have in the region that OUR FOUNDING FATHERS VERY MUCH OPPOSED, I would say it's time to get out of Dodge. Until our borders are secure and we can take care of our own business, we shouldn't be in this very volatile region at all, nor should we be channeling taxpayer money into it. Aren't Republicans fiscally conservative? Or, is that only when it doesn't suit one's purposes? IMO 9/11 is a braindead Giuliani inspired excuse for backing off on our founding fathers' desires for this country.

There has never been a president so firmly ensconced on the side of the bad guys - Castro, Chavez, Ahmedinejad, Ortega and now Putin.
I am going to say this again (I did when this topic came up last month). 1/2 my family is in Poland and I asked them about this. According to them, the people that ACTUALLY live in Poland, 75% of the residents don't want this shield anyway. They feel MUCH safer not having it there.
