This is un daymn real! The loaded a bus full of dangerous mental criminally insane psychos and turned them loose at a county fair filled with families and small children. And at least one of them is on the run!
EVERYBODY involved should be fired including the director of the institution and laws need to be passed requiring that the criminally insane remain locked up in institutions.

I hope the people in charge of that mental institution are fired. From reading the article, the staff had to fight tooth and nail to keep dangerous mentally ill criminals from being allowed on 'field trips'.

Either the management of this facility is extremely naive or they themselves are criminally incompetent.

I agree. I am in favor of much stricter punishments for the criminal mentally insasne. It disgusts me that people convicted of murder but pleaded mental insanity are given 1 or 2 years of treatment and then released. Time to bring back asylums and incarcerate people there until they are ready to be shipped to jail for the rest of their sentence. No more treat and release.

Not only is a psycho-killer (literally) on the loose, but they waited 2 hours before reporting it to the police. Not like I condone taking the criminally insane out in public but this particular one was an escape risk to begin with! This whole thing defies common sense, but that's what you get when you are all touchy-feely and live in happy we can help everyone by letting them pet a cow land (fair reference). Hopefully this guy doesn't hurt anyone! Dumb!

I can't say I support bringing back asylums and somewhat believe that life sentences are as/more inhumane than the death penalty but this man was diagnosed with schizophrenia, according to his brother and had burned his victim's body to avoid detection.

They say his medication will last for14 days--here's hoping. I hope that one day research will reveal more precise causes and means of dealing with mental illness.

Oh to be sure, who would want to spend life in prison? Except....they get healthcare, libraries, fitness centers & cable. Hmm.
