This thread was to say something good. Try to put aside the retoric for a moment. There are enough threads to bash in. One little thread to try to get along was all that was asked.

No rep for you.

I have wondered at times what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the US Congress. ~ Ronald Reagan
I am an Independent voting conservative middle American ...

Obama is fine ... Good ideas are what they are, and it can only take the American Congress to so mangle any good idea.

How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin. ~ Ronald Reagan
Obama is also "NOT" a communist ... I hate to burst the neocon bubble in that regard ... but hey ... someone has to have enough sense to do it.
Extreme left and right have to realize this.

Though I do not agree with the "Policy", I'll, at the same time, find the man Barack, engaging. So much so that he is even listed as a friend on our company myspace page.

I don't blame either Obama or Bush with the current state of our economic affairs. (this has been building for 30 or more years). Our American Presidents have been made out to be the fall guys every since I can remember.

If I were ever found to be pointing the finger of blame in any direction, it would be pointed squarely at the Congress and the Americans that put Congress where it is today.

not a conclusion, just my opinion.

there is plenty to critisize, and I have on many occaisions.

but to answer your question: his academic record, his ability to convey fairly complex ideas in an understandable way, his background in law(albiet for the wrong organization) and the fact that he is uniquely positioned to unite the country due to his racial background. Obama has the opportinity to unite us in a post 9/11 world. Unfortunately, he seems to be doing the opposite courtesy of the pretty ballerina emanuelle.

He needs to do two things:

Stop preaching to the choir (tax-receivers and cronies).

Start listening to the remaining congressional republicans (the most corrupt ones have already been un-elected).

OK that's enough nice for now. My other posts will go back to bashing "little o" (as in small orgasm) bama.

Still wouldn't mind having a beer with him, tho.

Is that why I have had only 6 jobs this year? Sorry. This is a depression, and food prices keep going up too. This is the worst year I have experienced in 16 years of self employment.

Obama has contributed to the decline. In 7 months, he has destroyed our economy. If this is "recovery", I hope there isn't more to come.

Ok, here is something, Congratulations, Obama, for the Kudos you've received because of the way you dress. I am sure he doesn't have a stylist (where is my sarcasm button on my keyboard when I really need it??). We don't need a President, however, who is Esquire's "BEST DRESSED MAN OF THE YEAR" leading the greatest country in the world. He shouldn't be regarded as some popculture icon. He should be set in a class by himself, yet he appears to relish in the limelight for reasons I feel are more surface than relevant. So what if he pairs an Armani tie with an Yves Saint Laurent suit?? Those kudos he receives because of the way he dresses make those who support him look like their primary focus is being chosen for Vanity Fair's guest editor. REALLY??
So, back to the origianal challenge (which was a great one, by the way), I can honestly say that though I am proud of his stylist for being able to put together some very attractive pieces, I cannot in good conscience come up with any good thing to say about Obama himself...other than the fact that he will prayerfully not be the one sitting in the Oval Office in January 2013. We are going to believe that 13 is a lucky number in this most crucial case.
I really can't think of anything positive either. There is just too much I know about this administration. It is disaster. We are in deep doo doo, and this President is entirely to blame.

But I'm still thinking!

Sorry, Irish. It just aint happening for me.

Just a beginning. Listen to him read his first book, Dreams of My Father. Check it out at the library. It's difficult not to admire him after learning more about him. To quote Lincoln (loosely), "It's difficult to hate someone when you get to know him."
Yale Law Review ... BIG DEAL! Who cares? What does that mean?

Since when does he "reach out" to everyone"? Give an example, please. You mean like, "I won."?

We don't want his "health care" plan (or lack of health care, which it will be).

Yeah, that book "Dreams of My Father"...telling indeed. He admits he's a racist.

And please: Don't quote Lincoln as if Obama is Lincoln! He isn't even close!

"Exposed for what it really was"? And what was that?

Really? How so? Bush won the same way Obama did (but I think Obama had a lot of help from ACORN and voter registration fraud).

Surely, your joking. Who can forget his, "I won" comment. This "president" has shown no willingness (zip, nada, zero) to work with Republicans, who have been shut out of every debate.

Oh, Bull S--t! Are you kidding me? You cannot really believe that. It's his way or the highway!
