Beats me, as I have seen few true traditional conservatives around here.

Even Obama's worst poll is not lower than the percentage of Americans who voted him into office. That being the case, what sort of deluded arrogance grants them the right to claim that they constitute exclusivity over citizenship much less an electoral majority to speak on the behalf of "we" the people?
I've noticed this with extreme conservatives.* First you de-americanize anyone slightly to your left and deem them false Americans. Then you take what's left, the "real Americans" and voila! You speak for all Americans!

*not all conservatives are nutcases though. Only dittoheads, Beck fans and the hannitized.

When they say "We", they really mean all the other racist white people.

I think it is annoying and misleading, and done purposely to somehow make the other side think there are more who feel like "you" do than there actually are. I don't think I've ever phrased any of my posts as "we" when really all I'm posting is my own opinion.

"We" is not as bad as "everyone" and "no one". I mean, "Why no one believes Obama"... Give me a break. That kind of statement is intentionally meant to mislead, and dare I say, it is a LIE!

I think you've got it there, dusk...... "we the other racist white people, feel that"..or "we, the other racist white people, after careful consideration, have arrived at the following decision...."....etc etc etc. I like this explanation. It explains a lot.

It's kind of like that other group, the "anti-illegal crowd". I'm not sure what makes a group a 'crowd', but there must be something there. Like the "anti-drunk driving crowd"....or the "pro-women's rights crowd"....or the "anti-welfare fraud crowd".

How about "we, the anti check-bouncing crowd"? There, in that example, you have both a "we", and a "crowd", as well.....and both are PROBABLY made up MOSTLY of racist whites, if I don't miss my guess. They're the ones USUALLY against most stuff, and the meanest.

I think many people RESENT the fact that the American people spoke so loudly and clearly -- that is, to say they rejected the war criminal Bush/Cheney's way of doing things that has led to war and death and the humiliation of America...and they are swayed by religious "leaders" who confuse spirituality with politics...I had a very sweet and sincere woman actually tell me with all seriousness that she "had to vote Republican because the Bible says to"....
People fear what they don't know, or fear things that will help everyone and not just themselves (that's always different, isn't it?) .. and then they like to put stupid names on ideas and movements when they really don't know how to discuss solutions and ideas...things like "socialism"...that's a popular one right now, isn't it? When will everyone stop looking for someone to demonize and get with the program...Who was it who said "If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem"....couldn't say it better myself.

Michael Seitzman pretty well sums up my feelings on the issue using the language that wish I could use here.

Michael Seitzman: "I Want My Country Back!"

Except the people that THINK they're the solution ARE the problem right now.

What a brilliant statement. THESE are the inane thoughts of the left that will break them.

As opposed to the anti semitic rhetoric being thrown around on other threads --- you mean racism like that?
