(AP) LOS ANGELES -- Jon Stewart and his writing staff are owners of new Emmy Awards.

Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" was named the best comedy or variety show in the
annual Emmy Awards. Blessed with an abundance of material during a presidential election,
the show beat out David Letterman's "Late Show," "Saturday Night Live," "Real Time With
Bill Maher" and "The Colbert (col-BEAR') Report (rap-PORE')".

Wow! I would be SO proud of this, if anyone watched the stupid thing. He is the most popular guy to a couple of losers that voted and nobody watching or caring. What an honor
Ever seen that arguing on the Internet is like winning a medal at the Special Olympics thing? Same goes with winning an emmy..

Considering it is the source of the only news some people get, its nice to see it recognized in the right catagory.

Others have won before, it was their turn.

Considering it IS a comedy show that often uses parody of politics, it is the most balanced programming on the subject.

I have watched Jon Stewart blast both political sides and call out the media on its various biases and inclinations towards hollow sensationalism. Yet the alleged actual news from places like MSNBC, Fox, or even CNN can't say the same.

From his famous grilling of the alleged liberal media on Crossfire with Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala

Well-deserved recognition for an excellent comedy show ... and if some people turn to the Daily Show for actual news, well, they could do a lot worse.

Absolutely! In fact, I first watched the bit on the now infamous ACORN video from his show, and he promptly jumped all over it. Although my favorite is still the grilling he gave Jim Cramer from Mad Money.

The guy is a big lib and has been way too easy on Obama. However, unlike other hateful lib "comedians", like Letterman and Maher, John Stewart is pretty funny. I don't think anyone minds lampooning as long as it is entertaining.
