Just admit it; it is not the GOP that is giving obamacare the boot - it is his own party.

They have 60 votes but not for the bills that the leadrship has proposed. Otherwise they would have moved on on eof the how four bills.n fact they don't even have the majority of the country behind any of the bills.Rememeber that the ledership could call fora vote but tehy know they don't have the votes.

Clever play on words, yet wrong again!!

An overhaul of the current healthcare monopoly and providing some form of healthcare for Americans is what's in the best interests of this nation as a whole.

The President is attempting to accomplish this, "assist this administration" and nation or get the hell out the way!

Out of the blue the Republicans pull a "market-based" health plan out their butts?

"Market-Based" code word for nothing changes except the rhetoric.
Insurance companies continue business as usual and Americans get screwed.
The Republicans plan is to leave the foxes in the hen house and take their word that they'll voluntarily stop eating the hens!!

Bottom line is that insurance companies are not there to provide health coverage, they are their to make a profit.
If that profit comes at the expense of your health or life so be it, in their opinion.
They nit pick clients who pay into the system and when said clients present too much of a cost, their insurance is dumped. The payer has no recourse and/or financial ability to seek redress.

So yes it is the responsibility of these partisan obstructionist to "assist this administration" if the nation wee their top priority, instead of which health insurance staffer was going to give them their next "campaign donation"!

Hey, I have a great idea to pass health care reform!

EVERYONE who is now insured...STOP PAYING....drop your insurance....afterall, so many rightists say you will get health care...you can use the emergency room and charities will step up to the plate and pay ...and pay....and pay. SEE, simple solution!!!

It's a GREAT American health care solution!

And insurance companies will have to drop their rates in an attempt to get customers. When they come down to decent affordable COMPREHENSIVE coverage , start buying it again.

What a Snowe Job! What a disappointment! Guess she wants it both ways...vote now for Obama care and then maybe she'll do it again or return to the Republican fold as she nears her re-election. What I found to be most disturbing is that the vote was 9-1, but her one vote gave Obama the opportunity to say he had bi-partisan support for his socialized medicine pre-cursor.
Obama is hell bent on making the United States his base for world power. Look at his smugness when he makes his pronouncements. He has been on a spending jspree much like a kid in a candy store. How come the silence is deafening regarding Michele's separate trip to Copenhagen? A million dollar trip? She couldn't wait one more day to fly in Air Force One? All she did was promote her story? Hardships? Her father had a great job and as far as getting into Princeton...do we know how much she paid or if she paid at all to go there. Her master's thesis complained about racial diversity on campus...I wouldn't have cared if the whole population on campus was checkered as long as I could go to Princeton...at a reasonable cost????????
Olympia.....how could you vote for these people who are spending dollars we don't have...and blatantly saying they are going to take from those who work and save and give it to those who don't. Olympia are you ready for amnesty? That's next! What are you ...Olympia.... anyway?.......oh...maybe you are just a negotiator...it will be interestingj to see what Maine gets...a road to nowhere? You were the one person America could count on to speak for us...that we don't want Obama's single payer system....you let a whole nation down....you betrayed us. Yeah, a real Showe Job.

She also said "My vote today is my vote today. It doesn’t forecast what my vote will be tomorrow.”

Maine gets damned little other than a Senator that actually votes according to the wishes of the majority of her constituents. At least something other than talk is finally getting done on the health care issue. Snowe isn't going anywhere, she's well liked here.

Snowe broke from the GOP a long time ago, and never was conservative. She's a shill....and she's going to be GONE very soon.

Don't count on it, she's well liked and respected here. She's a moderate voice in a sea of screaming partisanship. She will continue to be re-elected to represent the people of Maine.
She's got a lot of balls for a little woman!
