Vice President Joe Biden said today that if Democrats were to lose 35 House seats they currently hold in traditionally Republican districts, it would mean doomsday for President Obama’s agenda.
GOOD
I will fly to 35 cities and vote in each one . Like I learned from the nice ACORN lady.
Any president in these political times knows he needs his own party in control of Congress to get anything accomplished.
Don't get your hopes up for 2010!
We libs wont be forgetting the Bush years for a LONG LONG TIME!
The last thing we want is to have Republicans in charge again!
One borderline Depression and two major Wars is already more than this nation can handle!
We don't need anything else from Republicans to add to the CHAOS they already created!
Who cares if you libs forget the Bush years or not?
The clear thinking independent voters know how to seperate candidates.
The braiwashed partisans only pull the lever next to their favorite party.
Thank God independents know the out of control spending and the rediculous bailouts of inept corporations are going to do more long term damage to this country then the short term benefits will help this country.
The "Its Bush" negative advertising will not work in 2010: Different candidates, different time.
We'd better get some actual conservatives (small-govt, personal-responsibility) in there when it happens, instead of the big-govt, big-spending Republicans who were there since 2000.

I have been worried about this ever since the election. Like someone said before its much easier to criticize than to lead. The funny thing about liberals and libertarians is, there are a few things they can agree on, like the war in Iraq. So you had everyone but the neo-cons in sort of an alliance last year against the Republican party. Everyone was criticizing Bush, and very few people actually defending him. But politics is pretty much a game of shifting alliances.
Now you have some libertarians teaming up with fiscal conservative democrats and other independents, to stop "big government", which is fine. But keep in mind, as soon as things change again, this alliance of convenience will again be at each others throats. What you don't seem to understand is, something needs to get done. People wanted change, why is everyone now fighting against it?
Let me just state, the majority of the country wants health care reform. What is the best? Public option? Single payer? Mandate or no? It has to be something, and just like Bill Clinton said, it doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be a start. The social security that FDR passed is nothing like the social security we have today.
Personally I am looking forward to getting health insurance that I can afford. Health care inflation is going to kill us unless we do something. So lets stop fighting and just get something through. I can promise you, once its passed, it will never be repealed, because the America people will want to keep it. Just ask every other country in the world. I read a poll that over 90% of canadians do not want to go back to a private health care system.

"Just get something through" is a big mistake. Look at all of Lyndon Johnson's programs he just pushed through for the sake of pushing through without a clear plan or much thought.
Most Americans are not socialists. Big government is not popular with most. Obama got in because people were sick of Bush. Many voted for him without fully agreeing with or understanding him. His idea of "change" is not popular. People wanted change but not what he's offering. I would be shocked if he sees a second term. The traditional Republican seats will have Republicans again in 2010. I'd prefer a good third party but the best we can probably get now is a check on Obama.
