IF black black men are "abandoning their children at alarming rates" WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE WHITE MEN DOING...living the perfect Ozzie and Harriet life?
Other data released last month showed the percentage of unwed mothers differs from race to race. While 28 percent of white women gave birth out of wedlock in 2007, nearly 72 percent of black women and more than 51 percent of Latinas did.

I checked CDC and the statistics are he same but were in PDF.
Part of it is like you said about wealthy whites wanting to keep their noses clean. However, to some extent, alot of it is also AA leaders who continue to insist that Blacks have it hard compared to everyone else:

I have noticed that ever since the election, there has been an utter tsunami of threads detailing how white people are evil monsters and Blacks are being oppressed and marginalized like it's 1954 Montgomery, AL.
Sorry if this offends some people, but you can't have it both ways. You can't complain that African-Americans are seen in a poor light, and then on the other hand drag examples of AA hardship out into the public whenever you need social sympathy.
On a daily baisis, Black Americans (as a group overall) in the U.S.; unlike any other minority group, must deal with negative press coverage, fingerpointing and criticism from (many, but not all ) White Americans about the many social problems affecting black communities, particularly within the inner-cities; such as high:
- Un-employment rates
- Murder statistics
- Drug abuse and distribution
- Poorly performing schools and high drop-out rates
- AIDS
- Teen pregnancy and single parenting
- Black male incarceration
- Overly aggressive police and police brutality
Certainly, Black communities has its share of problems. But, does White America (as a group) have any similiar type of social problems or are white people free from social problems in U.S. society?
My answer to this problem? Man up. Do what you need to do, and don't let anything or anyone stand in your way. (You/your being anyone who has a stigma becuase of their race, region or socioeconomic status).
Everyone has bias, and everyone is subject to prejudice. There is no utopia. It's sad that some get more than others, but we've done what we can as a group. It's up to the individuals now.
I think that people who try to "help" other people have exacerbated, if not outright caused, many of the problems we see in our nation today. Look at the large cities of this nation, the primary targets and "beneficiaries" of "progressive" or collectivist policy. The failure of some communities to adapt to society is a direct result of some "enlightened" people trying to "fix" problems by insulating those that they wanted to help from addressing the causes for their problems. This forever dooms the "beneficiaries" into repeating the same behavior that makes them "victims" in the first place. So I don't see it as a white or black issue at all. I see it as an elitist problem whereby some people are looked at as incapable of managing their own lives. These elitists perpetuate the problems by trying to fix outcomes instead of causes.
Yes, the Perpetuating-Paternalistic Political Pattern. Yes, and used very well by Democrats, using government to "fix" the problems it created by itself, and consciously perpetuating the status quo as a means to retain votes.

What exactly is your point other than to incite some back-and forth race crapola?
No one could honestly answer your 'question" without getting kicked off the board...so knock it off.

I've read some of their stuff before it was pretty GOOD.

Does this include the number of OOW births where the parents marry later? How about the children whose mothers are pregnant when the fathers die? How many have parents who are divorced before the child is born?
Also, what defines "abandonment", since we're talking about how black men "abandon" their children so much? Is it abandonment if the father pays child support but doesn't live in the home? Is it abandonment if the father goes to jail/prison, but remains an active part in his children's lives? Is it abandonment if the father is deployed? Oh, and since black males are being sent to jail at ALARMING rates - most over non-violent, drug-related crimes - get outta heah with this. You can ALWAYS skew numbers to fit your cause, especially where blacks are concerned.

How many times can that be debunked before it's dismissed for the exaggeration it is?
