Eh. Maher tends to be intolerant of stupidity.

When he was on CNN, he was an entirely different person and I don't think that's a coincidence. All these people who question everything he says or threads devoted to him is exactly what Beck wants and that's why he says them in the first place. I don't take Beck seriously and don't consider him a journalist on any level. I'm a Republican who listens to Hannity, O'reilly and Rush but Beck is not sincere and is a self proclaimed "Rodeo Clown" as he puts it.

I like Joe Scarborough. He has a lot of class and is intelligent. I agree with Joe's point about Beck but I think Joe still believes Beck is sincere about what he says.
THANK you. I've been saying the same thing about Beck for weeks now. The guy doesn't believe most of what he says, never has. For him, it's a game. Entertainment. The crazier he gets, the more money he makes. I'm pretty sure he chuckles all the way to the bank.

But I aslo think this is true for Rush Limbaugh. O'Reilly believes what he says. Hannity is just a dumb little squirt.

I think that's part of it, but part of me thinks they really are pretty staunch conservatives. Wouldn't it be interesting if Rush Limbaugh didn't think Obama was so bad?

Actually if what you say is true, it makes them even worse people because they're not even acting out of any principle, just money.

And yes, Hannity is a dumb [annoying] little squirt.

I don't know what Scarborough is. He uses his radio show to hector and lecture other conservatives, giving all the libs little shivers up their legs. But IMO he's still a politician at heart, and would love to get back into the game by appealing to independents. I don't particularly trust him.

So none of them have any "Duty to the Truth or the Journalistic Code of Ethics"
Would this code of ethics be something that Ubermann lives by? I think not but then I never watch him or his channel and I never miss a Beck show so I guess that makes me as dumb and ignorant as you say.

I think you have hit that nail on the head. I seldom watch O'Reilly but always watch the others. I guess that makes O'Reilly a RINO, too.

The last time I checked the Declaration of Independence, there were two jobs for government:
1. Secure rights, and
2. Govern those who consent.

If one seeks to change that into a socialist / communist system, where there are no private property rights, and what is not mandatory is forbidden, then perhaps we should HATE to see America destroyed.

When a man spends someone else's money on someone else, he doesn't care how much he spends. Involuntary servitude for the benefit of another is unAmerican - and that's exactly what "redistribution of wealth" is all about. Slavery is never an acceptable solution to the problems that plague a nation. Especially when it is explicitly unconstitutional.

Socialism and communism both advocate collective ownership. Collective ownership denies private property ownership by individuals. Ownership becomes a privilege subject to the government, and you devolve into something less than a free man.

From the Communist manifesto: "In this sense, the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property."

We've lived for over 3 generations without private property rights. I realize that most Americans don't know what private property really is. Here's the definition from a legal reference:
PRIVATE PROPERTY - "As protected from being taken for public uses, is such property as belongs absolutely to an individual, and of which he has the exclusive right of disposition. Property of a specific, fixed and tangible nature, capable of being in possession and transmitted to another, such as houses, lands, and chattels."
- - - Black's Law dictionary, sixth ed., p.1217
The Constitution specifically protects private property:
Amendment V, US Constitution 1789
"... nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."
If you've witnessed the government taking your or someone's land, house or chattels, and without just compensation, you have PROOF that such property was NOT absolutely owned, as private property.

Welcome to the United Socialist States of America.
