Obama Says It's a "New Era" on Climate Change Policy - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

"But this is a new day. It is a new era. And I am proud to say that the United States has done more to promote clean energy and reduce carbon pollution in the last eight months than at any other time in our history."

I'd respond, but I'm too busy laughing at the outright lies being told by this administration..

Good. Then we don't need cap and trade. Just keep doing what you are already doing Mr. O.

It's working great.

Duh..he's taking credit for the greatest recession since 1929 ?
THAT is what cause emissions to go down.the fact that no goods are moving anywhere in the world.
If no one buys then no one makes. If no one makes then no goods have to travel anywhere.

Geeze..what some people try to take credit for.

I agree with you completely. We don't need crap and tax since he has done such a good job already. I wonder if he can get crap and tax passed if he doesn't get his health care thing passed. We don't need either one but he needs the power that comes from them.

I do agree that Obama wasn't really responsible for the effects of the recession but he did impose tougher gas MPG rules which is actually as strong as I would like it... I thought Bush was BSing when he gave retarded MPG rules that had pathetically low MPGs... Obama has not really pushed far enough to alternative energy which I think is KEY... instead he wants to tax you (and get Federal revenue from those taxes)... I mean come on already... I rather develop better efficiencies in solar energy, explore geothermal technology (for private home use)... but instead of doing something FOR consumers... he is doing something to TAX consumers? Huh? I would of like the government to give us alternatives to gas/oil products... but no, he decides to tax us to use those products instead? Instead of giving us choices and reduce our costs, he is forcing us to pay taxes that will enrich the government and corporations? Huh?

Spot on evil. To create "carbon credits" and then let utilities buy them to make up for a shortfall totally defeats the purpose of cutting back.
To then let Wall Street trade them as derivatives is a slap in the face to the American people.

U-Bet ... automakers will have to achieve the average of 35mpg in 2016 instead of 2020 ...
