You don't like this country and have found your Utopia elsewhere. MOVE! what's stopping you? are you scared or something? make an Intraweb ad describing yourself and ask for donations. I guarantee you you'll be out of here in no time
I hope all this talk about splitting the country up is tongue in cheek, otherwise it's ridiculous.
That said, the divisiveness and lack of civility seems to have reached an absurd level right now. People are talking past each other. The media has become and echo chamber for the respective camps.
Some people think those who don't agree with them are either complete morons or have bad intentions.
Some don't even recognize the president as legitimate.
This is bad in the long run. What's worse, I don't see things getting better any time soon. I hoped Obama could bring the country closer together but I don't think he is succeeding.
I'm sure that no one wants the US to split.
I see a very small portion in this country making most all of the noise per my "90% of the rest of us" comment in an earlier post in this thread.
I have both Liberal and Conservative friends who would agree that times are just tough all over. We talk, we get along ... because this is what Americans do.
I don't believe for a single minute that America is as divided as some would try to have us imagine. In my business, I travel all over the west (from the Mississippi to the Pacific Coast) and I'm not seeing any division at all.
If anything, I see Americans pulling together and working with each other in order to get beyond todays economic challenges ... both Democrats and Republicans.
Obama could never bring Americans together like Americans are bringing themselves together. Our American spirit is stronger than the WH and DC, and we'll do whatever it takes to pull through, even if it means being an American first, and a partisan second. ..

Oh no, the entire NE is not solidly blue. New York State, ie, 90% of the land mass, is entirely the opposite from the 90 miles surrounding New York City.
Who would want to live in a place with drugs and prostitution anyway? I'm sure you can find that in a lot of inner cities already along with the crime, murders, grafitti, gangs, etc. Have fun!

As a matter of fact I am moving to a foreign country soon WHOOOOOO! I can't wait!
But..... there are things called visas, passports, immigration, I CANNOT just move permanently. I have a 1 year visa and after that year is up I gotta move along, or start the process all over again and get another 1 year visa.
You cannot just up and move to a foreign country permanently. For you to suggest this you obviously know nothing about immigration and visa and how it all works.
You can hop from country to country, constantly getting short term visas. But then you cannot plant any permanent roots. Unless you decide to marry into a country and get that green card/ special visa, but I don't want to be tied down to a wife and possibly have to leave if I get divorced.
Why don't you enlighten me. Which country will take me? Which country can I just permanently move to and bypass the immigration process? Tell me.
How about those who want socialism or that just don't like here leave. it's that easy. Your free to go at anytime. Hope you all find what your looking for and good luck. America love it or leave it

Only problem is no decent country is too thrilled about having right wing wackos in their midst,so they make it hard for all of us to move there.

Prostitution is legal in many, many countries. It's legal in Australia, New Zealand, most Asian countries, several European countries. Most of South America. Much of Africa.....
More countries allow prostitution than do not.
As for legalizing drugs. If drugs were legal, this would not necessarrilly increase drug use.
Just look at the USA right now. Prostitution and drugs are illegal. Yet there are prostitutes all over anyway. And our country is FULL of drugs.
Making something illegal does not stop it, or even slow it down quite often.
What would be the point then in having anything as illegal? No laws whatsoever, a complete free-for-all.
Some laws are necessarry of course. Things like murder, robbery and rape should always have strict penalties.
Some laws simply do not work though. Drug laws and prostitution laws are just not working in the USA. People are already doing tons and tons of drugs and they can be obtained easily. And hookers are everywhere.
You just have to look at things and use your intelligence to analyze them......that's all.
