every vaccine has a virus in it. that's what vaccines are. in injectable flu vaccines, the virus is dead and cannot possibly infect someone. in nasal vaccines it is live and there is a tiny chance of catching the flu from it.
the swine flu vaccine is no more different from the annual flu vaccine from last year than the one from last year was from the one the year before. the virus mutates all the time, so the virus strains in the vaccine change. it's because of these mutations that the vaccine sometimes misses a strain - the vaccine takes so long to make that the cdc has to make predictions about what strains we'll get here based on what they're getting in the southern hemisphere, and vice versa.
note that katiana is a nurse and knows what she's talking about. i work in health care as well. i think we over-vaccinate (i think only high risk people should get the vaccine, contrary to cdc recommendations) but this stuff about vaccines intentionally infecting people with the flu or otherwise causing health problems with the knowledge of the manufacturers/government is just silly. why would anyone even want to do that?
and note that there is exactly 0 credible evidence that the story in the OP is true.
and i don't know a ton about the h1n1 vaccine, but if it's a live virus vaccine there's no way the manufacturer can absolutely guarantee its safety, because there will always be a risk of getting the flu from it, however small. even regular flu vaccine (with a killed virus) could give you an anaphylactic reaction and kill you. any medication could. i don't think any pharmaceutical manufacturer would be dumb enough to give someone a guarantee that a medication or vaccine is absolutely safe. that doesn't mean that there's any kind of reasonable risk associated with it.
It can (and should) be of concern that the vaccine is being rushed to market
as it is, and that the Obama administration may make it mandatory for us.
