I don't know why either. Maybe it's because they're jerks and they just happen to be liberals?

Regarding burning the flag, I have a flag that was handed to me at my father's gravesite (He was a WWII Veteran) and I can't imagine burning it. In fact, I was pretty radical in high school & college. I marched for Civil Rights, I protested against the Vietnam War, and I never imagined burning the flag or hanging a president in effigy.

By the way, there is actually nothing wrong with burning a flag or throwing it away. It's just a symbol. It's burning it in protest while our troops are giving their lives for our country that's unpatriotic.

Of course. The only reason anyone could have to doubt the rah-rah America bull**** they heard in kindergarten is that they are a liberal. I mean that's the only possible explanation, right?

I think you completely misunderstood my comment in answer to azriverfan. I was saying that, if people act like jerks, it doesn't matter what side of the political spectrum they're on. I think someone who mocks another person for having a flag is rude.

It should be obvious from my other posts on this forum that I'm not exactly a right winger.

Damn the bloody stars and stripes to hell.
If not for the laws provided to you by this country you hate so much, I don't think radicals like you would live too long. Don't worry though, if the country collapses into chaos as I'm sure you'd like it to, people like you would be begging for the damned stars and stripes.

Wasn't always like that. I think the 1980 election of Reagan was a turning point. Liberals couldn't stand him or the Reagan revolution. Being "flag wavers" was the charge liberals applied to conservatives at the time.

Regardless of what people say, if you have an American flag in your home, you know why, and that make the opinions of others of little consequence.

The left wingers are h*ll bent on destroying or denegrating all American traditions. They want it to fit in with their no personal responsibility, no respect for anything and no sense of decency lifes.

They cannot grasp the fact that the flag is not only a symbol of our country but for all the men that have died so they can spend their life whining. Want to bet these same America haters would be up in arms if you burned a gay flag?

At least this drunken flag burner took responsibility for his disgraceful actions.

Some of us love our country despite its blemishes. And others can only rant and rave about what's wrong with it. Most of those people that I encounter are liberals.

That's because they see no future. They live for the moment and for their personal peasure no matter who or what it harms.

Generalize much?
You know what really cracks me up?
I am greener than any of my liberal friends.
I give more to charity than any of my liberal friends.
I volunteer more than any of my liberal friends.
And no, I don't belong to a church.

It's so easy to be a liberal and sound righteous and good and sensitive and compassionate when the solution to all your problems is spend someone else's money.
