The reality that you refer to - is the wishful thinking of someone such as yourself who has absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

Once more for the cheap seats :
Sorry, the facts are somewhat different than your opinion.

There is no election in Britain currently
There are polls and the Labour Party is in deep trouble.

The vote for the parties left in Germany actually increased in their election result last Sunday.
They are in the wilderness - what does going from single digits in the vote tally to low teens mean? Not much.

Socialism as you call it, has been in situ in Europe and will remain.
And Europes GDP is higher than the USA.
Not really, they are so close that the difference is chump change, considering 27-1 in countries and 500 million to 300 in people.

The hard core leftists are losing ground, fast. Just read the excellent analysis by the Times.

The facts inform my opinion.

Conversely, you try to frame the facts to your opinion.

But don't take my word for it : GregW, Pamky, Groar, Dane and several others, like me, all say that you've got your facts wrong.

They're not in the wilderness : they have increased their vote in a general election.
Familiarise yourself with the European states election systems, instead of continuing to make a fool of yourself.

They're not close : in GDP terms the EU wiped the floor with US :
$4 trillion difference in 2008.
$1 trillion difference - so far - in 2009.

Hard core leftish would be communists.
Don't recall the communists being in govt, anywhere in Europe.

Why do liberals always try and B.S. everyone about Socialism...Its a failed idea....It cant work....plain and simple....Because sooner or later people realize, why work hard when everyone (even the lazy) get the same as you...So..why work hard?...End result.
Whole system crash.
End of story.
And Rich people never run out of poor people to exploit, there is your capitalism, yes it is a sustaining idea as long as the rich can exploit the poor. The problem is that the rich have sold the dumber people that this is a good thing.

OMG. That's you're corroboration? The lefties hold the same opinion as you? How meaningless is that?

So? The polls show they are in trouble. Deep trouble.

What was the figure? Something like 9% to 11% - that's wilderness territory.

And 27 countries to one is a fair comparison? 500 million to 300 million a fair comparison? I think not. There is no other nation that compares to the USofA. The only way you get there is 27-1 and 500-300 million. As it stands right now, about 3/4 of a trillion separate the US and EU. Considering that the EU lost 17% of GDP from 2008 to 2009, so far, is alarming, to say the least.

The only one talking propaganda and disinformation is you. I'm just repeating what the analysis says, what the election results show, across Europe and what polls show.

You, on the other hand, are just stating your opinion, which the facts don't support.

Message 184 and message 185 - and subsequent messages : all answer
your poll/link.

You quoted the Sun newspaper.

The Sun newspaper is not a paper of record : it's a tabloid that has women posing naked on it's Page 3.
By all means cite that paper and we'll let the Forum decide on the veracity
of it's point.

Ummm 1 so your saying those "Local and State" agencies are the same as Socialism.......Oh thats right and Healthcare is a "right" also?...Hmm no.

Problem with the left is...there a bunch of weak minded, sad fools.
You people should spend more time taking pride in yourself and stop needing and wanting handouts.

2. Here is a private message sent to me by Kixt8850 because of my original reply to this post....I thought the left was so peace loving? I guess only when you agree with them.

Die painfully okay? Prefearbly by getting crushed to death in a garbage compactor, by getting your face cut to ribbons with a pocketknife, your head cracked open with a baseball bat, your stomach sliced open and your entrails spilled out, and your eyeballs ripped out of their sockets. ****ing ***** I would love to kick you hard in the face, breaking it. Then I'd cut your stomach open with a chainsaw, exposing your intestines. Then I'd cut your windpipe in two with a boxcutter. Hopefully you'll get what's coming to you. ****ing ***** I really hope that you get curb-stomped. It'd be hilarious to see you begging for help, and then someone stomps on the back of your head, leaving you to die in horrible, agonizing pain. ****** Shut the **** up f aggot, before you get your face bashed in and cut to ribbons, and your throat slit. Please turn to the loaded gun in your drawer, put it in your mouth, and pull the trigger, blowing your brains out. You'll be doing the whole world a favor. ****bag. I would love to smash your face in until it no longer resembled anything human, ******.

Another internet tuff guy or girl.

The left is funny.
You always claim to be the peaceful 1's and us "crazy rightwinged nuts" are the dangerous people but why oh why does it always seem when there are demonstrations and riots....its the liberal left, you break windows and all sorts of other mayhem...yet on 9/12....100,000's of 1000's of "rightwinged nuts" show up and guess what..no arrest...wow..amazing.

Liberals are peaceful only when you agree with them...but oh boy when you dont agree and exercise your freedom of speech..the left is the 1st ones to shout you down!

Stop wanting handouts and start contributing to the country!

The elections in Germany (last Sunday) show an increase in the vote for parties on the left.
More votes = more support.

Polls are opinion polls in Britain.
Britain is not due to have an election until 2010.

Their opinions corroborate the facts.
Unlike your opinion - wish is based on wishful thinking and a lack of understanding of European politics (and US politics)

The wilderness is where you dwell.

The vote of the partys on the left in Germany - in the election result last Sunday - increased.

Tough.
You decided to make the comparison with Europe except you were not aware that the EU is a far more succesful economy than your country's.

$4 trillion difference.
Do try to get over it.

Disinformation and propaganda are your forte, not mine.

You cite a tabloid paper, containing Page 3 topless women as your source of information.
You disregard the increase in the vote of the parties of the left in Germany last Sunday.
You also disregard the fact that Angela Merkel on Monday said that there will be no change in terms of State support for healthcare etc.
You disregard the fact that the German govt actually increased wealth transfers to the German economy during the past 18 months.
You also disregard Gordon Brown, British Prime Ministers speech today, to his party in which he states that Labour will actaully extend wealth transfers to underpin existing services and will add extra services to British citizens (carers allowances etc).
You disregard the fact that the definition of left/centre/right in Europe do not corrolate to the definitions applied in the American body politic and you continue to try to compare apples to oranges.
You deliberately and wilfully ignore the views of posters here, who actually know about the European political system and are located within Europe and who are familiar with what is/what isn't happening at national/European level.
