I've noticed posters getting slammed for suggesting that Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson and/or community activists should be speaking up against this violence.
Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are interested in THEMSELVES. The reason that they do not do anything in regards to this horrible event is because it will not benefit their own interests which is making noise and stirring the pot when a "racial" event occurs. I GUARANTEE Sharpton would be all over this of the attackers were white. No doubt about it..
Sharpton does not help the Black community. He actually harms it a great deal.
Not all cultures adhere to the same standards as yours when it comes to family.
It has been my experience that the family unit is traditionally very strong in African-American culture. This seems to be more of an example of breakdown of that culture.

Pretty much; I can't believe that any black people are actually asking or expecting for them to come. The last thing we need right now is for one of them to get involved.

I want them to show up in a Chicago, Philly, LA, Atlanta or NY Ghetto and tell the people what really needs to be heard . Hopefully Hannity and Limbaugh can come too. Only a dream!!!!
People are saying it's a black thing because a race that makes up about 13% of our population commits around 80% of our violent crime. Theres no point in arguing the fact that African-Americans are statistically more violent than White Americans. Just like Whites are statistically more violent than Asians. End of story.
Black-Americans who get involved in crime and violence for the most part do it for similar reasons that Whites,Hispanics and Asians do. The difference is that the factors shaping criminal behavior such as poverty,joblessness,single parent homes,lack of diplomas and teen mothers are more of a problem in Black America so as a result we get a disproportionate number of Blacks getting involved in criminal activity.
So to reduce Blacks getting involved in criminal activity we will have to reduce the numbers of Blacks in poverty,who are unemployed,single parent homes,teen pregnancy and increase high school graduation rates among Blacks particularly with Black males then we will see Black street crime decline. Black unemployment can be decreased with an increase in Black business ownership and teen pregnancy can be reduced with more comprehensive sex education for example.
