Taxes will have to go up even if we take healthcare out of the picture..we're flat broke.

Now add subsidized insurance and *boom*.
I think you will see many "go Galt" and/or become expats.
Don't kid yourself that folks are not talking about this..there are plenty of forums where serious talk is going on.

And then we have "the path to citizenship" to deal with.
What is that..50 million new citizens eligible for all our social services.
Then we have cap & trade..subsidized of course for lower income folks by the taxpayer.

The system cannot absorb this. You cannot spend like there's no tomorrow while we have no money all the while saying "no new taxes for people making under $250K". It's lunacy.

Oh and Dukester when the Repubs did go nuclear most of them lost seats in the next election. Only 41% of people approve the bill and the public option wont make it through the senate. So either the bill gets defeated(hopefully) or the dems will go nuclear and seal their fate for defeat in 2010 then well see either Palin or Romney win in 2012. Obama = FAIL

Sorry don't see it that way. Did the Repubs use reconciliation on a campaign promise/agenda or did they use it to benefit a certain segment of the population, you know giving tax breaks to the upper 2%? Big difference in this case. Obama ran on education, alternative energy and health care reform, big difference. Palin, Romney, you are serious, right? Palin is too stupid and the Christian Right would go after Romney like flies on S**t...

Afghanistan is Obama's, and it's turning into a quagmire.

Did you think the "war of choice" free ride was going to last forever?

Top 2% paid more under Bush's tax cut than before it was enacted.

The Laffer Curve helped launch Reaganomics here at home and ignited a frenzy of tax cutting around the globe that continues to this day. It’s also one of the simplest concepts in economics: lowering the tax rate on production, work, investment, and risk-taking will spur more of these activities and will often produce more tax revenue rather than less.

But Obama has a few problems.

1. He feels promoting himself is far more important then his war of choice.

2. He kinda forgot to talk to the commanders on the ground and do not forget he promised he would talk to the joint chiefs of staff to get all the information needed to win in Afghanistan. ( The Joint Chiefs have nothing to do with the decisions and he did not even know that !! )

3. He picked Afghanistan because he was WRONG on Iraq and voted against the surge, so he went with this war as his baby. He wanted to suck up all the credit for it, now since he has failed to deliver as promised he has tossed it aside and replaced it with more worthwhile issues like going on Letterman and other shows promoting of course himself.

Obama is a total LIAR !!

Anyone who believes that Obama won't raise taxes AFTER he get's his obamacare are whistlin' through the cemetery. Obama has lied to the public since day one, and his socialist agenda can't be accomplished without raising taxes on everyone. Everybody can't ride in the wagon if there's no horses pulling it.....

Obama ran on Health Care Reform and many people got the message that without the Public Option there would be no reform whatsoever.
It is not yet a fact they can pass this bill through Reconcilliation (the Nuclear Option) for 2 reasons

1. Reconciliation is limited to certain budgetary processes. It's not yet confirmed this process can apply to this.

2. Even if Reconcillation applies to this, the Republicans could strike it from the bill through the Byrd Rules.
