Letterman jokes from past shows:

“Gov. Mark Sanford disappeared…and it turned out he was in South America. And then it turned out he was down there because he was sleeping with a woman from Argentina. Once again, foreigners taking jobs that Americans won’t do.” –David Letterman

“Ladies and gentlemen, here is great news. Senator Larry Craig from Idaho … is looking for interns. What parent doesn’t want to hear, ‘Well guess what, Dad, I got accepted into Larry Craig’s intern program’? But if you’re interested, Larry Craig is now accepting applications from interns. Just slide your resume under the stall.” –David Letterman

“But did you hear about this? Senator Craig from Idaho plans to fight a disorderly conduct charge. He wants to change his plea to ‘not creepy.’ … Earlier today Senator Craig said he’d like to turn over a new page. I believe his name is Kevin” –David Letterman

“Several prominent Republicans are calling on Sen. Larry Craig to resign. And a couple are asking for his phone number.” –David Letterman

“The guy was arrested for lewd behavior in the men’s room, and I’m thinking, ‘Well, hell. I’m lucky if I can get a hand dryer to blow’” –David Letterman

“There’s another scandal in Washington. One of the senator’s from Idaho, Larry Craig, was arrested in airport men’s room. Gives new meaning to the word caucusing.’” –David Letterman

“Sen. Craig said he made a mistake by pleading guilty. And I was thinking, maybe that was your second mistake.” –David Letterman

“The way I look at it, anyone who spends more than two minutes in an airport men’s room is guilty of something.” –David Letterman

“My idea of getting lucky in the men’s room is when the motion censor works on the faucet” –David Letterman

Just amazing, you people get played again and again. When the Letterman Palin thing came up it boosted Lettermans ratings during Conan O'Briens Debut. He should have been getting his butt kicked but he boosted his ratings. Why now? This case has been developing for a year, once again Dave is establishing his Late Night superiority.

Just like Limbaugh who has been paid $40 million to drive the GOP off a cliff

There are bigger issues than ratings.

Not for a TV show.

EEOC: Sexual Harassment (http://www.eeoc.gov/types/sexual_harassment.html - broken link)

"The harasser's conduct must be unwelcome."

Boss/subordinate dating is not against the law, and it does not automatically fall under sexual harassment. For it to be considered harassment, the injured party would have to file a complaint. This could happen if a subordinate suffered retaliation on the job, for instance, after breaking off the relationship.

Many companies do not explicitly forbid boss/subordinate dating.

ROFLMAO! You are comparing a Supreme Court Justice with a comedian? What does this have to do with "liberals?" Why is this a political issue? Explain this to me, please. Pretend I'm a 6 year old and explain how you can compare investigating the actions of a Supreme Court Justice who is appointed for life to the highest court of the land to a stand-up comic. What decisions does David Letterman make that will affect your life and the lives of your children and grandchildren?

As I said above, if he broke the law and it turns out he used a position of authority to get sexual favors, I'd be the first one to point my finger at him, but he is a talk show host. He is not a judge, a governor, a senator or anyone who makes or enforces the law or is supported by federal, state or local taxes. He's not even a police officer or other state/local government employee. He's not even a school teacher. He is a private citizen who writes comedy and hosts a late night TV show. Period.
Pretend you are a six year old? Okay- Go to bed!

The "status" or professional position of the offending party is not the issue- it is one of adhering to rules of personal conduct and presenting an example to society. I would offer to you that more people are more familiar with David Letterman than they are with Clarence Thomas, and so, despite Thomas being a Supreme Court Justice, may have a greater impact on behavior of his "followers". Breaking the law or engaging in unethical personal conduct should not be excused, regardless of one's occupation. Further, Clarence Thomas was wrongfully accused of misconduct and did nothing wrong. The only thing that was unusual about his situation was the false accusation and the subsequent witch hunt initiated by the liberals- kind of like a Tawana Brawley in reverse.

This is what I have told my kids and would tell any six year old- your personal behavior and how you react to a situation is often more important than the situation itself. Further, regardless of your station in life, you are an example to your children and peers.

There- you got it like a six year old. Oddly, personal ethics should be the same for a six year old, an adult, a comedian (that would be a reach for Letterman anymore, as he is just an angry lib, kind of like Gary Treduea (sp?)), or a politician. Do you favor unethical behavior in any profession or facet of life? If so, why are your expections or performance different for different occupations or people of different social strata?

Is he your god and Supreme leader or something???

I thought he was a TV talk show host..........why are you stupidly attaching such importance to him?

who cares? I have no idea of his relationship with his wife, nor is it any of my business. Guess he can screw all the staff for all I care. What business is it of anyone in here? For all you know they have an open relationship. Apparently, he had a girlfriend besides the one he married.... but again... who cares?

They're not. You twisted what I said which is that the public's right to know is different when someone is a public servant. Comparing the behavior we expect from a Supreme Court Justice to that of a television celebrity is ludicrous. It doesn't mean I condone bad behavior.

Sorry, but I've got to take a break now. I need to beat my dog, find a married man I can sleep with and watch some kiddie porn. After all, we angry libs have no morals or family values.
