Uhhhh, what about the guy who tried to extort money from Letterman? I thought that was a crime. Where is the outrage over the crime? Where is the support for Letterman who went to the police instead of giving in to the blackmail plot?

No one knows nor has it been confirmed that this happened while he has been married to his wife. He married her earlier this year.

In my reading, the interns that they are saying he fooled around with were before he was married.

Was it right? No, absolutely not, but to make accusations aren't right either.

She has been his "domestic partner" for 20 years and finally married her last year, after being humiliated on his show by a guest. His "marriage" was not due to devotion, it was to avoid further public embarassment. Like most hedonistic libs, it is all about him and screw the world. He was screwing around on this woman while they were living together and had a child together.

To say he was not married is asking for the definition of "is" again. Letterman is a pig.

Give Letterman credit!?!?!?

The reason the guy went to the police is because he loves money more than his family. He is a pig.

Unlike you, I will not attempt to define what his relationship with his now wife was at any given time. That is not my (nor your place), IMO.

I don't think that Letterman was worried about the 2M at all, that is chump change to him. I do believe his concern was that of his family.

While what Letterman did was of poor taste, what this producer scum did was just as bad. And is a federal offense. So to go after one and not the other in this case, makes no sense. Just because someone does something wrong doesn't make it ok for another to threaten and steal money. I would say that the producer scum is more infatuated with greenback than Letterman is.

The producer will go to jail.

Letterman got off scott free. In his mind, that is the way it should be. Poor behavior with no consequences- the liberal rant of the 1960s.

1. Once again, you have no idea what is -- or was -- going on within his relationship/marriage. You no more know that he's going to get off "scott free" with his wife than you know if she knew of and tolerated his affairs....or even had her own affairs. But don't let your lack of knowledge stop you from running your fingertips as though you know something.
2. What consequences do you think Letterman should face? Are you suggesting he should be charged with something? If so, what?
3. Are you suggesting he should lose his show? Isn't that for the market to decide?

So if he "loved his family" he would have given the person attempting to blackmail him the $2 million and would not have alerted the police to this crime? Huh?

So you SUPPORT CRIMINALS??

He's a TV comedian for Christ sake. He doesn't "owe" the public honesty. If anything he owes them laughs and a good time.

Default Lewis Black on the Letterman Matter

Just got a link for a video of one of my favorite guys, Lewis Black, blasting the Letterman matter. His POV is that America needs to grow up and get over sex between consenting adults and the media needs to find some REAL news to report. He has come choice words for "John and Kate" Goselin.

I agree with Lewis Black. Consenting adults having sex is not news and not scandalous. IMO, we need to grow up and stop giggling like 9-year-olds when the word 'sex' is used. Our national schizophrenia over sex is insane and makes us the laughing stock of the world, again and again, every time some GOP "family values" politician is found in flagrante delicto.
