Um, those numbers are not seasonally adjusted. What you are seeing is kids leaving their summer jobs and going back to school. That pretty much happens every year.

The report that no kids got summer jobs this year? No, I missed that one. Pretty odd though that the 16 to 19-year old labor force dropped by about a million in September. Maybe they all ate some of that tainted peanut butter and had to be hospitalized?

The growth in unemployment in Britain is concerntrated in the 18-30yo
category.
