Default What Recovery

Payroll employment has fallen for 21 consecutive months, with declines totaling 7.2 million.

In September, notable job losses occurred in construction, manufacturing, government, and retail trade.

A total of 15.1 million persons were unemployed in September, twice the number at the start of the recession.

The number of long-term unemployed rose to 5.4 million in September. This group has grown more than four-fold since the start of the recession.

Among the employed, there were 9.2 million persons working part time in September who would have preferred full-time work.

The report that no kids got summer jobs this year? No, I missed that one. Pretty odd though that the 16 to 19-year old labor force dropped by about a million in September. Maybe they all ate some of that tainted peanut butter and had to be hospitalized?

It's normal enough to be using seasonally adjusted data. <floridasandy> either got hoaxed or was trying to pull one herself...

The growth in unemployment in Britain is concerntrated in the 18-30yo

America is not unique in this regard.
