Yes, the public sector has been shrinking (at all levels) while the OP has gone around claiming that it is the only sector that is hiring. Foolishness abounds.

As for the Copenhagen trip, we know the right-wing rant if he goes. We also know the rant if he doesn't go. Turning his back on American workers when we need those jobs that the Olympics would bring so badly...Obama is selfish and lazy and hates America. It's all just another Catch-22 issue for the right-wing. But then again, aren't they all...

In fact, given the depth of the recession, the number of jobs lost is lower than many analysts predicted. Still not good, but to be expected.

It is just a shame that Obama has to spend so much time clearing up Bush's mess.

Government Keeps on Hiring, Adding to Private-Sector Burden - by Paul Soutar - Budget & Tax News

Saggy, saggy.

Publication date: 09/01/2009

Quote:
Even as millions of private-sector jobs have disappeared in the past year, government hiring continues to expand across the country, according to state employment data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The U.S. shed 5.5 million private-sector jobs over the 12 months beginning in May 2008, but taxpayers were required to support 116,000 more federal workers than a year ago, according to the report.
Go to the BLS and see for yourself.

They predicted 180,000. 263,000 were lost - how is that lower?

See what I mean Sanrene, they used the word projected to make things appear better but when someone used the "projected" back against them it is wrong.

The fact is Obama has lost 700,000 jobs since taking total control of America.

Nothing like the sunshine and flowers he promised everyone during his campaign now is it?

Economic FAILURE is what Obama is, a total economic failure.

How's the "change" working?

Just a reminder of obama's claims;
I am worried this country is on the verge of complete collapse.

We've lost close to 3 million since his inception, or is it 2 million. Oh, who's counting?

I would certainly never go to the Heartland Institute as some people do.

BLS Federal Employment...

July 2009 = 2,861K
Aug 2009 = 2,842K
Sep 2009 = 2,822K

Which of the two directions (up and down, for those not familiar) do those data appear to be heading in?

This country will not collapse but hopefully the corrupt ties between Government and Business will.

Why do you think Government only cares about quick fix band aids for economic problems?
