Oh yeah, and the fact that his hand picked general came out on 60 Minutes to say he hadn't spoken to him in 70 days and was awaiting a crucial decision...are those reasons enough?

Why Chicago Failed To Win The Olympics : NPR

All that worked wonderfully in the past for cities so desperate to host the Olympics they plied the votes of members of the International Olympic Committee with college scholarships for the kids, all-expenses-paid vacations, lucrative real estate deals, luxury bathroom fixtures, surgical procedures, laptop computers, skis and skiwear, rent-free housing, shotguns and more

Those who were certain that the president went to Copenhagen because the result was pre-determined know nothing about Olympic politics and IOC members.

That sums up a number of CD posters.

For those who did not link the article, the snippet posted would indicate that the IOC members sold themselves to the highest bidder,...which is far from the truth. The posted excerpt gives an impression that is not borne out by fact.

Well, you're only supposed to post two sentences. The article does support that it's not business as usual, which was, to sell themselves to the highest bidder. There is plenty of evidence to support that all that I posted happened, especially with Salt Lake City.

That's true,...but apparently the playing field was equal to all, not just those who paid the most. One can ascertain that the most qualified won, or at least the one who displayed the most common sense.

If you'd read the article, you would see that it said that the old ways, as above, didn't work this time. That this happened with Salt Lake City in 2002 is beyond dispute.

This was about America. To make anything else out of it is a total lie! We lost the opportunity to create many new jobs with the 2016 Olympic bid. Hannity and Limbaugh are celebrating this.

Like I said,...the playing field was level and USA lost fair and square. The presumption that the Obama duo would make a difference didn't succeed. If his handlers had a clue, Obama could have stayed home and saved the country a few million.

Whatever. I could give a flying flip about the Olympics anyway. Don't watch them.

Why is there a need to lie for embellishment?
Because it worked on the majority of Americans for the 2008 election, so why not?

Suffice it to say, there were no tears shed.
Here's a pre-decision article on Michelle's 'leadership' of Chicago's Olympic bid:
Michelle Obama Plans Dramatic Pitch for Olympics, Jarrett Says - Bloomberg.com

From the article...

Quote:
"Michelle Obama is leading the U.S. delegation to Copenhagen, where the IOC will choose among Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo...

A top White House adviser said first lady Michelle Obama is planning to make a dramatic presentation when she offers the closing argument for the bid by her hometown of Chicago to win the 2016 Summer Olympics.
“There won’t be a dry eye in the room,” said Valerie Jarrett, who plans to travel with the first lady to Copenhagen for the Oct. 2 International Olympic Committee vote.
“I’m sure that it will touch the hearts of each of the IOC members,” Jarrett, a senior adviser to President Barack Obama, said today in an interview."
And...

Quote:
"Appeal for African Support
In the closing days of the campaign, the U.S. is making an appeal to IOC members from African nations.
Jarrett, for example, was scheduled to attend reception this evening in Washington for African ambassadors organized by U.S. Representative Bobby Rush, a Democrat who represents a swath of Chicago’s South Side.
“This isn’t just the president and the first lady,” said Jarrett, 52, who grew up in Chicago and is a longtime friend of the Obamas. “Our entire congressional delegation is behind this as well.”
Why were they so focused on African nations? Aren't the Olympics a world event?

And this part is laughable:
Quote:
"Like the president, Michelle Obama, 45, keeps a rigorous fitness routine, exercising six or seven days a week."
Sorry, but Michelle does NOT look like she keeps a rigorous fitness routine.

Bottom line, the rest of the world isn't as gullible as the majority of Americans who fell for Obama's and his entourage's manipulative speeches and hype.

Jarrett sure sounded arrogant and smug before the vote... but then reality smacked her silly - the rest of the world wouldn't swallow the Obamas' self-important manufactured-hype BS.
